Happy Weekend!

122's, bad steps yesterday but I did my first yoga class since before surgery!  It was a gentle yoga class.  I lost some flexibility, for sure, but was pleased that I wasn't way back to my baseline.  I might try a slow flow this morning.

We do all look very busy but I was struck by DianeS's comment about how our weight loss has made those tasks easier.  Good reminder!  At my highest weight, it would have been very difficult both physically and mentally to fly out to Minnesota on short notice for my sil's memorial.

Immense Gratitude!

Shel

Same as yesterday  - 215.

Shel, you're right about the ease of doing things. I've practically forgotten that tying my shoe laces up was a chore that left me breathless for a moment. I am more physically fit than any of my close friends and honestly do feel better than I did at 35 or 40 and here I am coming up on 53. I get so stuck sometimes in the present of trying to deal with my eating issues and overcoming the biological/hormonal issues that were caused by my obesity that I sometimes lose sight of all the positive work and progress I have made. Thanks for the reminder.

I had a workout from hell yesterday. I don't know if it was the lack of sleep or the fact that we started my session with a back warm up (back flies) and then went straight into HIIT sessions on the air bike before doing any of the core workout. Core workout wasn't much by itself (back flies, push ups into bookworm hip raises, side lunges, bosu ball crunches) but throw in that air bike and damn! After 40 minutes I was zonked. I cooled down on the treadmill and went home and took a little nap instead of having my usual afternoon coffee! I am already feeling the hamstrings this morning - but in a good way.

If any of you are old enough to have seen American Graffitti you may remember a lot of it was set at a Mel's Drive In. Well, a brand new Mel's opened about a mile from here. Yes, we went. I ordered what I wanted and boy, oh boy, was I proud of myself. I nibbled but kept aware and stopped before the "full" hit and simply put down my fork, pushed the plate a few inches back and was done. A bit of a proud moment - especially after watching Ron and BFF finishing their dinners and then going after mine. Ron ordered a chocolate malt to go, too. LOL! I can't say anything, but I chuckle when he complains that he's not losing his belly. Is that bad?

I am thinking and sending positive energy to our friends on this board who may need a little extra boost right now.

156's# I've been really tired this week.  I had a couple days of tired eating.  It wasn't horrible.  I didn't actually feel out of control but knew I was not making the best choice.  I actually slept 9 hours last night. And, feeling like I need more.

We're off to a college football game.  It's Band Day at OU and they allow HS kids to get on the field and play with the band.  Andy has some kids participating so we're going to watch.  The weather is going to be cool this evening...perfect football weather!

I'm thankful for what my body is able to do now...life is so much easier!!!

Have a great weekend!!!

129's and steady. Walked four miles with Sadie and my neighbor at 7. Grocery shopped, then came home and trimmed bushes, raked and mulched. Moved a yard of topsoil and raked it out. Showered and wrapped my leg in the big wrap as the compression stocking didn't stand up to all of the activity... but I did !  Thanks for the reminders to be grateful for the stamina and activity level I now sometimes take for granted !

Hi Happy People

131 here. Down a half. Hope to get rid of travel weight.

Jus****ched our beloved Cornhuskers beat up on Wyoming.  They might be decent this year. I do like college football.

Yeah, its good to be able to tie shoes.

Hubby is headed over to get out house painter and equipment to start soon. Our painter does not own a car and doesn't know how to drive. But he is a terrific artist and painter and dear friend. Just one of the many unusual characters in our county. Still fiddling with paint color but there is some prep to do for awhile.

Keep on truckin' everybody. Eat Healthy, Pray, Love.

Busy busy busy!  Quick note to let you know I'm still alive!  No weight this morning but will be moving back home tomorrow. Tenants left last Thursday so we've been getting things back in place in preparation for tomorrow's move back.

Landed the fashion stylist job today! Had a 2.5 hour interview/consultation this morning and got the offer a few hours later. Super excited. Will regularly work about 20 hours a week but could certainly work more. Also the business is expanding in lots of exciting ways that could prove to be very interesting and fruitful for me. First I have to prove myself of course, and I'm looking forward to everything about this opportunity!

I'm buzzing and have to keep moving because there's lots to do before tomorrow's final trip. Home!

You are no-doubt more mature than me about this sort of thing, but I am still in grief for you over that jacket!  But, also excited about your new job!
