Hey there skinny friends!

123's. I returned home from Minnesota last night -- I was there for my sil's celebration of life. It was held on my brother's micro farm which I love.

It was an all day pot luck and new dishes dribbled in every few minutes. If I had counted, calories count would have been very high.  I enjoyed my mom's Apple crisp with zero guilt. However, despite my intentions, I grazed all day on ridiculously small servings.  I suppose the small servings kept me from massive calories but it also meant that restriction never really kicked in.  I wish I could say lesson learned. I will say that I am glad that it is rare that I hang around a pot luck for 10 hours.

On my mind: food packing for travel as an anxious MO woman vs a chill thin woman

As anxious MO woman, my thinly veiled lie to myself was that it was essential to pack a mini-mart in my luggage.

As a wanna-be chill thin woman, I packed enough food to cover a meal or snack every three hours while traveling. I did have a couple of single almond servings (not a trigger food) zipped into my carry on as a just-in-case.

I like being chill thin woman. It was a relief not to lie about "needing" the food nor have it call to me the moment I packed. It was a relief to avoid the shame of eating every single extra calorie long before the trip was over.

It is fascinating to me that how much set-up affects my thinking. By not over-packing, I avoided a major chunk of stinkin' thinking. Structure matters.

Devon, good job with delaying your meal until you could truly enjoy like a thin-dude! That part of the book resonated with me, as well.

Find your skinny structure today!

Totally relate to your food packing!  MO modus operandi was eating everything right away. Boy is it freeing to throw a quest bar, a serving of jerky and a few almonds into my bag, knowing I can manage for a long time on those few items.

Back down to 114 today. Who knew?  Devon I'm not totally trusting my scale either - it has to be stored on its side in our tiny bathroom and RV leveling is not an exact science.  Poor thing has taken a bit of a beating.  Will decide if it needs to be replaced when we get home. Hope not because it's been my daily companion pretty much since my surgery date. Funny to feel attached that way but if anyone gets it, it's you guys.

Went out for a lovely dinner with friends who live out this way. Of course my clothing was chosen around my new shoes. Everyone had a great laugh at my camping gear. Lol

It was a fun evening but dinner did not sit well, actually puked it all back up. And I mean all of it. Very unusual to have this issue with salmon and I didn't overeat either, but that's twice in a week I've thrown up after eating.  Also my acid reflux is much worse these past few months. Have been consuming wine more often so that could be the culprit or at least a contributing factor.  Will have to keep an eye on things.

Pet pics for you today. One of Bailee's view of the off leash  area he enjoys from his window or standing at the fence in better weather (mesh on the fence to keep dogs on other side). A bit too cool for much activity out there so far today, but usually there are a dozen or more dogs in his view.  We are loving seeing all the shenanigans and breed varieties.

The beagle is our friends' dog Oakley.  He is the litter mate of the only beagle to win Westminster's Best in Show. Interestingly, Oakley was the breeder's initial choice but he started getting too tall.  Instead they went with their second choice (I think her name is Lucy and she is a tri colour as opposed to Oakley's red) and clearly they made the right choice.  Canadian Beagles rock!

Great view! Gorgeous Beagle!!!! His chest and front legs are fantastic and his feet are so wonderfully compact. (I know, dog breeder...)

When you read my post, you will see you were not alone in the vomit department. However, if yours continues with regularity, you will need to get it checked out. I'm willing to bet it has more to do with your rising anxiety over DD and how her health is impacting your life. Stress can contract the stomach and make even the smallest bit of food feel uncomfortable. Many normies lose weight during stressful times because of the the normal physical reaction the digestive system has to stress. Thinking the best for you and Rob to get through the next several months. There is a lot on your plates - surgery, moving back home, possible new job, and DD's declining mental state. Be gentle with yourself.

Weight same as yesterday. Hmmm.... maybe the drop down was the fluke. It's okay, I'm still down 3 pounds and tomorrow is "weigh day".

We went to a place called American Kitchen last night for their Grilled Cheese Sunday. 9 ooey gooey different grilled cheese sandwiches are offered ranging from meatloaf and mashed potatoes on a grilled cheese to a Monte Cristo to a avocado melt to, are you ready, the Mighty Mac which is a grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with, you guessed it, Mac and Cheese. That's what our friend ordered. Ron got the meatloaf grilled cheese. I did NOT order a grilled cheese, but rather a flat iron steak topped with a fried egg on a bed of arugula on a soft torpedo roll. I ditched the roll and ate the insides and a few fries. It was great and very much enjoyed.

My NSV yesterday was followed by a not so brilliant act. It was later in the evening when I had some yogurt. I did not realize I was not empty enough for the yogurt and it was habit and head calling me to eat. I ate my normal portion of yogurt and about 10 minutes later I felt the discomfort of being too full. About another 10 minutes the yogurt started coming back up. It kept coming back up for 20-30 minutes and then all was well. But really? I'm almost 5 years out. You'd think I'd know this by now. For shame....LOL.... **** happens. I'm a human with food issues, right?

I'm sitting in my boxers and a tee shirt sipping coffee and being a total relaxed morning slug. I feel rested and calm and am looking forward to the day. It's wide open, ready for any adventure.

156's#

I'm hanging out in shorts, tshirt and bed head.  I'm not going anywhere today and am too lazy to wash my hair! I have, however, finished two grants for the library and thinking of more.  I'm washing rugs and sheets and puttering.

All is well in my world!

Date # 1 was much too old for me. Although he rides a bike and hikes... he was an 85 year old 70 year old.

Dinner date was great. He brought his extremely well behaved giant schnauzer with us. Bentley was well known at the outdoor dining establishments, and attracted tremendous attention and interest.   Had a fabulous time !
