OMG Devon, waiting to eat that long is a huge victory!  I still struggle with that, but at times I've been forced to I've been just like you - didn't die and forgot all about it. 

DD had VSG about a year after I did. Lost a lot of weight but not all. Now actively regaining, so it's a tough situation on top of everything else. Unfortunately she does not qualify for any type of crisis service because there is no 'diagnosis', she is not actively suicidal and poses no risk to others. We are investigating some other possibilities but they may prove difficult to access. I have some ideas but no guarantees they will work to trigger 'the system'. Needless to say, I'm on it, so hoping to get some things in place eventually. I have an MSW so I understand how things work, but it's been a very long time since I've worked at the community level.

Great victory ! The not being afraid of hunger piece was a huge mind shift for me !

Age: 64; 5' 5"; High weight: 345; Start weight: 271 (01/05/15); Surgery weight: 218 (05/27/15); Pre-Op (-53); M 1 (-18); M 2 (-1.5); M 3 (-13.5 ); M 4 (-13); M 5 (- 8); M 6 (-12) M 7 (-5, Xmas); M 8 (- 9) Under surgeon's goal and REACHED HEALTHY BMI 12/07/15!! (Six months and one week.) AT GOAL month 8. Maintaining at goal range (139- 144) ~ four (4) years !!
