VSG Maintenance Group
Sunday Aug 28
So sorry you are in a sad place. As a parent we want our children to achieve the correct stage of development. No matter what age. I feel your heartbreak. I have 3 that have struggled with adulthood. One moved back home today as a temporary measure to get her a chance at saving up and starting fresh in a new job. If this was permanent I would be grieving for sure. Praying.

184.5 today so way up again. Maybe all this bouncing around is somehow hormonal? No idea. I did get some sun yesterday, and also enjoyed some pizza, so maybe it's simply carbs and water retention. Really sticking to the plan today and drinking lots of fluids.
5'5" Goal reached, but fighting regain. Back to Basics.

Well, we know for sure it is some sort of water fluctuation, right? Your consistency really has paid off over time even tho there have been some temporary unearned set-backs.

123's today. In full disclosure, I bungled my scale step-on so this might not be entirely accurate. (Scale step-on should be an Olympic event, by the way.) But, I liked it so I kept it.
Lots of steps yesterday. I ran out of Netflix Doc Martin episodes last night so it seems only right that I am back to work full time tomorrow.
I'm adding "I just stay on top of my health" as a mantra today. Word for word, that is from a posting on one of the main forums. I like that it isn't just MO/eating focused.
Welcome, Sarah!!!!
Ok, go create some joy, my friends!

Greetings Good People
130 on the dot today. Welcome Sarah. What to do about a little regain is one of the main themes of this group. It seems to be a universal truth. I have had about 7 pounds regain which didn't occur until year 5. Just got sloppy. So don't go into panic mode but start tracking and reduce calories 100 to 200 per day. You might find someplace to get a resting metabolic rate test to see what your low end maintenance rate is and go from there. For me, moving a little more makes a huge difference and I will spend tomorrow walking huge distances in airports.
Linda and Shel I am so sorry for what you are going through and wish I knew how to help. Try as we might, we just can't change other people and its hard to know what is helpful and what is not. One day at a time and meditation is all I can suggest.
Tesla the pup actually arranged her toys in a perfect "T" today. Little genius. She also poops in the shape of a T or other letters.
Well gotta start packing for my trek to the midwest to get my mom moved and situated. Gotta get up at 4 for 6 am flight but going to San Francisco its best to take that first plane to allow for foul ups.
Hoping I won't spend too much time fighting withy mom's crazy soon to be ex roommate. Have some valium leftover from dental work that I may take along.
Cheers all. Diane S.
Posting from work in between patients so will make this quick today.
Welcome Sarah!
Linda, sending so much love. I have a teenager with autism and ADHD, I worry about him every day and have a feeling I always will.
147 today, up a tick, I'm sure due to those damn flying carbohydrates yesterday. Getting what I deserve there.
Enjoy your Sunday my friends!

P.S. And everyone watch out for flying food. Donuts and cookies are like drones, they appear out of no where and attack without warning, zeroing in on your mouth. Take cover if you see them coming. I am going to have to steer clear of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in the Denver Airport and opt for some over priced soup at some little deli. Or get into my supply of Quest bars. diane s

Busy preparing for the week. I made veggie muffins with whatever I had in the crisper! They freeze well and are a great way to get my veggies in!
The library will be in full swing next week. I made shelf makers out of paint sticks until I can afford to buy plastic ones:). I think they turned out fine for now.
All is well in my world...
So focused on getting ready and out of the house this morning I forgot to get on the scale. That NEVER happens to me. Go figure! Could have been a little ostrich at play since I didn't make the best choice at dinner - 1/2 a corned beef ruben. Well I tried to eat 1/2, but didn't quite make it! That was followed by a little frozen yogurt. I looked up the corned beef. Had no idea how calorie dense corned beef is!
My copy of The Thin Woman's Brain arrived yesterday. The cover picture strikes me as odd. I get it, but to me it looks reversed. Is that weird that I'm so programmed in to "before and after" that seeing the thin woman first on the left side of the page strikes me as wrong? Can you say, "Let it go, man!"? LOL!
Looking forward to my full on WL mode. Will check in with the shrink tomorrow and start of Tuesday.
Enjoying my puppy to no end. The little guy is smart, smart, smart! Today he was able to sit, stand, stay (for show), be examined, lie down and come when called even when I was hiding out of sight! AND he does it all with a smile! I think he could be my next heart dog. We shall see.
Sounds like most of us are doing well, though some stressful situations have arisen. Thinking positive thoughts for us all.
