Good Morning VSG Family!!!

155.5#   Yay!!!

Yesterday was full of meetings and a luncheon I organized for the staff.  I had lots of help so it came together beautifully!!!  Lunch was smoked meats, potato salad, beans, bread and cobbler.  I brought salad fixings for the vegetarians in the bunch.  I didn't touch the potato salad and ate beans and meat.  I did sample the cobbler and then talked myself into throwing it away because I told myself I had had enough!  It worked this time.

Today, more meetings and I'll get to work in the library in the afternoon.

Happy Hump Day!!!

126.8. Expected to see a gain but got a loss instead! That's always a nice surprise! Still no exercise but I am feeling much better today. Have a lunch meeting so no exercise during the work day but will try and get something in tonight.

Lesa - nice job on navigating the luncheon and recognizing that you didn't need to eat the whole dessert to feel satisfied!

Ms.PokerFace, Stay focused through the stress. It will be worth it.

I've got 2 dr appointments today. Nothing big.

Diane O, I knew as soon as I heard the computer ding that I left you out.

I'm going to have to get me some of that rewiring. The inner child in me doesn't get the attention he needs. I'm going to get the book now.

Dave I'm so excited for you to be getting close to finishing the Airstream. Can't wait to see the final product!  Oh and I always think of you now when I see Airstreams on my travels :).

BTW I'm surprised at how low you keep your calories. The scale rewards must come!

I wanted to go lower (800cal) to get back to 195 but Kairk suggested I ease into it.  It was good advice because I have not been able to anyway.  It really has been victory just to keep away from the Nuts & yogurt.  I also think my thyroid meds need to be increased but I have a very conservative PCP.  It was borderline last time.

Sans nuts and yogurt is a HUGE victory!

Even at my size, I can't go below 1000 cals to lose weight, so I think you're on the right track to prevent self sabotage. Quite honestly, I'd guess most men (with their higher weights) would have a hard time sustaining at anything less than 1200 cals for weight loss when we are further out from surgery. Yes we can all do a day or two less than those numbers but anything lower would be very hard to do for weeks or months at a time.

I also think you may be right about your thyroid meds too - worth a try.

Good morning everyone

david thank you for listing all of our good people and their amazing control.   Well done all.

In my little corner of the world:  tooth fixed, computer fixed, and knee getting better I think.   Went for a lovely walk in the woods that was  only a tiny bit scary.   Afraid of heights and part of this trail skirted a 100 foot drop to a small river, but found another way and felt victorious.  Knee hurt like the dickens but it was so good to be walking in the trees, an hours saunter.

Happy Wed.

That knee .... this is one of those situations where our Canadian health care system sucks :(
