Hi everyone!  I actually have a few quiet minutes before the rush of the day begins.  I obviously haven't been here much, so wanted you all to know I'm still alive.  :)  On a serious note, I've continued to flounder and woke up the other day having to face the fact that I'm heading in the wrong direction, full speed.  My clothes are getting tight, I'm finding that I only want to wear things that hide rolls more than others, etc. - not a good or happy place to be.  I made a vow to myself that by my 5th surgeversay on 8/22, I would be back on course - not perfect, but going in the right direction.  I've managed to put two fairly good days together, back to back, and a glimmer of hope is now in sight.   One day, one hour, one minute, one second, at a time, is my mantra.

Work continues to be very crazy.  Some good things have happened, with the state doing their re-cert of my program and speaking in glowing terms to the owner about me and my reputaion (I learned this from someone else, not the owner, who said hardly anything), and, just as I started to think that maybe I'd hang in there, another couple of encounters with unsupportive supervisors made me realize I really can't continue to be in this toxic environment.  I made a call to a place I'd been thinking of applying to and submitted my resume.  They were fine with me needing to give a month's notice, if I am offered and accept the job, as I want to make sure my program is stable.  It feels a bit scarey, but freeing all at the same time.  We'll see what happens - if it's meant to be it will happen.

Anyway, have a wonderful day everyone.  I can't guarantee I'll be able to be here on a regular basis, but I plan to at least try.  Hugs to all!  Mary

Glad to see you posting Mary! For what it's worth, before eating try to think it through - from first bite to regret. At least that way it becomes a choice not an impulse.

Big, big hug and lots of love and support!

"From First Bite to Regret" should be on refrigerator sticker, or maybe a tombstone.  Maybe most sadly, it could have been the mantra of my life before VSG.  Gosh, that is depressing, I am so glad that things are better now.  Still a struggle, but there is light in the struggle.

Last year, my daughter and I spent our time in Boston together (DH didn't have enough vaca time to do the Boston part of the trip.) I felt like I recognized every stone in your pictures.  Absolutely loved the place.

Mary, I am so glad you have external validation of your professional worth!  (I had no doubt.) I think it is a sign of what positive environments are available for you on the outside.  I'm glad you are making moves in that direction.   Can't help thinking that those professional moves may support your food moves, too.

It was wonderful to see your name starting the thread!

Hugs to you, too!

127's today.  That is mostly just me.....no garment and now just one drain.   I don't plan to think about weight to the 10ths for a very long time as my body heals up from surgery.

When I saw that my weight was down (despite a some before bed calories that put me over the top for the day's calories) I thought about running out and getting some sort of treat.

Then I decided that I really just wanted my 60 calorie bread.  I'm thinking I will need to drop that 60 cal bread because I don't want it to have that kind of importance in my brain.   There are plenty of other vehicles for nuts/peanut butter.

Carbon, I am sorry that your knee thing is lingering.  I am sending you positive vibes.

Protect your skinny today!

129.6 - not liking the scale, not liking what I am doing to make me not like the scale. Best to get after it now before it gets out of control. This weekend will be hard. Traveling and have wedding shower and Bachelorette party which means little to no exercise and not great food options. I will try to choose as wisely as possible!
