Greetings savvy skinnies

Well we all learn something every day here. Love this group.

131 again today.  No gain no pain. Yeah I know its no pain no gain, but both work for me.

Ocean Diane so glad you are improving daily. And do eat your protein so you can help heal.

Kairk, you are right about the sugar plus fat (and carbs thrown in). You would not be tempted to eat spoons of sugar. Not unless they were combined with butter and flour into a cookie. Even hard candies which are pretty much just flavored sugar hold little appeal for me and never have. They just are not chocolate, the mother of all addictions.   As I mentioned, that book helped me hate the big food companies and fast food places like I hate tobacco companies and don't even go down the cookie/cracker aisle at the store. I don't know why dietitians don't make more use of the research discussed by Dr. Kessler.

Today's agenda is dog walks and errands and art work. I am making shot glasses that look like men's boxer shorts. So busy looking up pictures of boxer shorts on the internet. Boy there are some odd things out there. . . .

Last night I made some pan grilled chicken. Sliced it up and cooked it with a little tomato paste and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Very tasty with persian cucumbers.  Seem like we get in this rut of hamburger, chicken, fish, repeat. Our coop sells a mixture of ground meat that includes elk, lamb, pork and not sure what else. Sounds good to me but hubby hates lamb.

Well another cup of coffee and its off to walk the terriers and see if any goats have been through the neighborhood.   Diane S

Day 4 liquids... did not go as planned.  Breakfast & snacks were fine.  BUT, spent all day in meetings from 8:30am until 6:30pm straight through lunch which was catered in.  I had mostly protein, did not eat to fullness, and decided not to beat myself up for it.  Dinner was broth and high protein/zero fat yogurt/plain.  So I'm calling this is solid/liquid success even though I did not stick to my plan.

184.5 today which is awesome.  We'll see if it bounces up tomorrow with the little bit of solid food I ate.  Still at a very low calorie count, so hoping for the best.

The book is "The End of Overeating" by Dr. Kessler, a former surgeon general.  Its really more of an expose of the junk food industry but suggests that understanding how food can be addictive and how food companies strive to find the right balance to get you addicted to their products is a way of being more aware and careful about what you eat.  I should probably re read it.   dines
