Good Morning Monday

Wt  218.4 up .4    Cal 1185

My morning routine is very important to me. I get up and eat. Read the forum. Wait then drink my coffee.  Answer some forum post. Feed the dog (1 of 3) that I am responsible for. Nuts and yogurt have been a very active part of that routine for a year.  Oddly my cravings don't hit until afternoon when my anxiety levels are higher. I can see that eating that food is not for hunger or fuel for my body it is because it calms me.  Soothing. What do you do to calm your inner self? Breathing? Meditation? Medication? Exercise? Prayer?

I worked on the airstream yesterday finish up the upper cabinets over the sink / hood vent area. Still lack the doors but haven't totally nailed down the design.  I also plan to do a youtube video of the whole process but I am really slow in editing. There are more pics in my profile albums.  On to the bathroom.

126.6 - down. Pretty good eating day yesterday though I did have some chocolate. 45 minutes on the treadmill at 4 mph and 10% grade. Walked to the neighbors for bible study so I had in over 11,000 steps. Work today!

David - my soothing techniques include exercise, talking to someone and/or taking a hot bath! Can't wait to see more pics of your reno project!

Today's my first lymphatic massage/wrap the new team. I am focusing on the ultimate relief from pressure and pain.

Typically, I walk and practice Reiki to relax. Doing anything near the water, music, reading and loving up Sadie are also therapeutic. Recently, I discovered adult coloring. I enjoy colored pencils and gel pens. I find coloring to be very mindful and centering.... Who knew?

Welcome to all of the new and returning folks !  Our collective experience and best thinking are quite inspiring and powerful. This maintenance family is a huge part of my ongoing recovery.

Good morning everyone and warm welcome to Heather and Poker.    Good to see you Cappy.   Momsy and Lorna trusting you are ok.

So pleased that those of us who were under the weather are feeling better.

a stressful weekend and reacted with carbs.  No exercise at all.   My body is sooooooooo tired of 'being lazy' and am soooooooooo bored with not being able to walk.

surely this too will pass.

enjoy this new day and a brand new week.

Good morning all!

Finding that I am looking forward to this daily thread!!  Weight is 149 today, no change from yesterday but down 2 lbs for my official Monday weigh in so I'll take it!

One of the things I am struggling with is lately is my excuses not to exercise.  Since I am off today I went for a 3 1/2 mile walk/run when I dropped my son off at camp.  When I got home from that I realized my dog needed his heart worm medicine.  Since it's only 2 miles I decided to ride my bike there for a bit more exercise.  I want a new bike so bad!!

Tonight I'm one of the guest speakers at the pre-op support group for the bariatric program where I had my surgery done.  I have been doing this for a couple months and I am so grateful for this opportunity to help support others.  I also learn some new things from other pre and post ops and it keeps me grounded and gives me more accountability.  I always leave feeling so motivated!!

Have a wonderful Monday everyone!!

Hello fam and welcome to our newest members. There's a lot of info and support here if you can get in the habit of joining us each day. Some of our deepest and most helpful discussions are rather unintentional and serindipitous, so if you can get your head around getting a few quick answers but mostly gaining insight over time, this is the place for you.

I'm back up to 115 and the number is not scaring me enough. Not that it should raise the three alarm fire response, but a little healthy fear would be appropriate. I'm a little too relaxed about my poor choices at the moment.

Leaving the crazytown family today! Nobody died so that's success!  Right???

We're swinging down across the border today.  Temporary destination is a fav little artsy town close to Whitefish/Kalispell. Will stay just a day or two to ride Going to the Sun Road, which is the route through the Glacier Park. It's always been a fav and is actually a trip we took when we first began dating 30 years ago.  It's where we began to fall in love.  Special place with special memories so looking forward to it.

Will not have access to cellular data in the US so hoping for decent wifi in the RV parks, which seems to be rare.

Wishing all of you a pretty day

Hi Guys,

I eat to relax.  No, wait, I'm not supposed to do that anymore!  Plus, it wasn't very effective anyway. About a year ago I discovered yoga.  During recovery, I won't be able to do the physical poses so hope to delve more into its breathing exercises and meditation.

Today, I am going to try to keep my hands/brain busy so I am not constantly looking for my next snack.

Have a great day all,

Shel

Good Morning!!! Welcome everyone...this really is the place to be!!

I had a wonderful time in New Mexico...new pottery came home with me; a couple of coffee mugs and small bowls.  We drove to White Oaks, NM to a place where a lady/artist lives off the grid.  She made her own bricks for her studio...very interesting woman and love her work.  Her name is Ivy Heymann.  Check her out. Another great potter in Ruidoso is Alan Miner.  My kitchen is full of his stuff.

Lots of deck time.  Good food and drink.  Mexican Train.  Great conversation.  The weather was perfect!

I haven't weighed....I decided that I'm waiting a week to do so.  Andy hid the scale.  It's kinda driving me nuts, however I decided that instead of beating myself up for the number like I always do; which takes away from the fabulous time we had, I am not going to weigh.  I am back on plan and we will see how it goes.

Andy started band camp today and I am dog sitting.

Calming inner self...I still sometimes eat like I did last night.  Pray. Deep breathing.  Talking it out.  Exercise.

Happy Monday!

Potter rec's!  More proof that you are an exceptional person!

i am glad you had a great trip tho it is nice to see you back.   Decades ago, I did an intership at a NM public health hospital.  Wonderful people, landscape and art.  Did you sample the local chili?  The group I worked with was all about the chili!
