I have knee trouble from time to time.  I feel your pain.  Years of too much on them I guess. Ice is our friend.

I slept late today and I never do that.  I have had enough time to finish the nuts and yogurt in the house.  I am not going to make any more.  I am not going to make any more. Withdrawal here I come.

WT 221 today same as yesterday.

Diane O hope your cells are shrinking.  Do warm pack of cold pack help?  Warm packs stimulate blood flow and cold packs can interrupt pain signals and decrease inflammation.

I live out of town in the country.  We have dogs.  We bought a boxer, rescued a havanese a few years ago and then took in my DD's pit while she was going through a divorce.  She was never living where she could take her back so I guess she is mine.  The boxer and the pit don't get along.  The boxer is old, nearly blind and always grumpy.  He does okay until the pit and the havanese start playing.  The boxer thinks the pit is being aggressive to his puppy and will have none of it.  The pit gets along with everyone but I have to keep her separate to keep peace. The pit sleeps in the shop with the air on in the summer and a wood heater in the winter.  She really has it good.  I didn't really ever want a pit but she is a very loyal dog.

Good luck on the yogurt withdrawal! What is your plan for replacement food?

Planning on going back to baseline. What worked for the majority of the weight loss. Meat and small amounts of hard cheese.  I don't have a problem with small variety in my diet. I eat very simple foods.  Kairk suggested I start out with 1200 cal then back off and that sounds like a better plan. With the yogurt my carbs were at 100 gm. But more than that it really is my transfer addiction. Weird. Very intrusive thinking about a single flavor of yogurt and my own mix of seeds and nuts.

127.something - forgot already. Up again - time to go back to Maui. Activity has certainly decreased since we have been back (gotta do real life stuff like work and house/child upkeep!). Food has not been that great either, way too many sweets.

Storms rolled in this morning with lots of thunder and lightening and the power was off but has since been restored. Will get some form of exercise in today - what depends on the weather. Women's bible study tonight. We are doing a book club of sorts so not a lot of homework but I have to catch up on reading - didn't have time on vacation - go figure!

Good Morning, Friends !!!!

146

I'm looking for improvement every day. The leg is a lot less red. The wound isn't worse and the swelling is about the same. I'm having to write down my pain meds so I don't take too much when I'm learning to overlap them effectively.

Starting lists of things that need doing, when people stop by to help. Honestly, doing all of this sounds better than giving up yogurt!!

Diane O, so glad to read your positive post! David, good luck with your yogurt detox. Not easy at all. I have had too many sugar detoxes over the past 4 months. I feel your pain.

211.4 - WHAAAAAAT??????  BOOOOOOOOOOOO! My big reward for eating a small slice of chocolate silk pie, I suppose? Sigh....

Now this is where the devil of disordered thinking revs up into full gear:

Yesterday after the walk we got back to the restaurant. Ron is in a holiday mood because we're in the city, dining al fresco in the park, and it's a social event. He orders a glass of wine, fish tacos with 2 toritillas, mango salsa, avocado, a big cup of Boston Clam chowder and coffee. He eats it all. Since there is very little protein centered fare on the menu, I ordered a Ruben. I pulled the meat off the bread, ate it along with 4, count them 4, potato chips.

Dinner: He got home from church late, I was tired from my client so we decided to go to the local family restaurant/diner we like. He has a full Cobb Salad and pours on the entire ramekin of Blue Cheese Dressing. I ordered a burger and ate it bun-less. Ate a few bites of the pickle, and fewer than 10 fries. At bill time we find we've racked up enough points for a freebie dessert. We chose a slice of Chocolate Silk Pie. We take it home. Later on I cut it in half and we each have a small slice of the chocolate silk pie.

My only other food yesterday was a protein bar in the morning.

So the disordered brain is saying to me, "Geez, you really kept it in check compared to Ron. Look how that worked out for you. Not so well, huh? Now today since you're on the road to Carmel by the Sea you ought to splurge on some real crap food. I mean, hey, you already are up two pounds when you were trying to rein it in and be responsible. Screw it. Just eat. Why not, right? The damage is already done."

Now I know my eating wasn't perfect yesterday. I get that. But I felt it was reasonable given the cir****tances, etc... I know I did not over do, BUT when the scale goes up that much over night it can still send me into a whirlwind of self doubt and questioning.

So now when I hit the road, I'm feeling like I'm going to have to white knuckle it all the way there and back. I'm contemplating picking up a breakfast sandwich at Peets (about 240 cals) as a "treat" hoping that may take care of the yen to "pig out".

Must...Be....Strong...

Greetings Dear Skinnies

Ocean Diane, glad you are posting. Sounds like a little improvement and good attitude. Good on you for writing down meds. I did this for my brother when he had a major surgery. Important to keep track. And glad you are availing yourself of help when offered. You really do need someone to run errands etc and hope you have such friends.

Hey Carbon, don't beat that knee up. Don't ya just hate computers. Lucky my hubby is live in tech support.

Gotta take Tesla the terror on a long walk today. Need to wear some energy out of her so she will quit pestering her dad.  I am sure I will wear out before she does.

Why is it that our brains spend so much time occupied with food? Guess it comes from ancient times when you had to think about getting food all the time or you would be dead. In my fat days I used to wake up thinking two things:  "I hate being fat" and "What can I eat".

131.5 today. Dinner last night was Healthwise tomato soup and a couple of glasses of wine. Now I know that soup didn't make me gain a half pound...

But I had not tried that tomato soup before and its quite acceptable. It will be a good studio lunch option instead of the cheese sticks I usually take.

The siders are done except for a few touch ups.  Now have to choose paint colors. A big deal for me. Yard clean up in our future.

126.3 today with no wrap.  Not so proud of that.  I AM puffy with lymph, no doubt, but also too many carbs in the form of fruit the last few days.  Extra sodium, too.  As the countdown continues for tomorrow's LBL, my life feels chaotic as I wrap up loose ends that can't be completed with a woozy brain in a recliner chair.

David, best of luck with the yogurt thing.  Our brains ARE weird!  (Not that I said "our" not just you!) Any wiggle in my life wants to ripple its way into food behaviors.  I try to recognize.  Sometimes I don't want to.

With the LBL looming, I seemed very worried that I will run out of food which is absolutely impossible given the number of pre-portioned meals I already have in my freezer.  This didn't stop me from IP'ing a 4.5 lb turkey breast, asking DH to grill a 1/2 lb of salmon (local, natch), and making chicken/lentil stew thing which could feed an army.

DianeO, glad things are improving!!!!!

Good luck to all of you low-sugar folks.  I'm doing ok with after dinner eating, currently.  But, my evening excess seems to have rippled into the daytime.  push-pull, see-saw.  whack a mole.  Nothing seems to go away entirely.   it just pops up somewhere else.

Have a great night, all!

Shel
