Friday at long last. July 8

Hello from Osoyoos!  I'm at 113 today.  Despite my best intentions, my food choices were no better last evening. So easy to rationalize when a bottle of wine is sitting open and two pieces of pie are left in the cupboard!  Today I hope to do better.

We rode a stunning road yesterday, in search of some friends' race track development.  We didn't find it, but the road was so beautiful that we plan to go back and ride further.  Also checking with friends to tour the development next time we go out that way.

We think we found the local hardware store 'mecca'.  It has everything imaginable and many other things you wouldn't! Worth a special trip!

The weather continues to be cool and overcast with occasional periods of rain. How can this be when we're in the desert???? Lol.  Nevertheless we are enjoying ourselves and getting along very well.  Old stressors and needs are starting to fall away.

Rob is trying to solve a generator related mystery right now. I'll feel better when that's done in case we ever get caught with no services available.  And he says it's fixed so Yaaay

Sending health to those of you feeling poorly and good wishes to everyone for a healthy and happy day

138.4 today, so I'm comfortable right now.  Yesterday wasn't a good exercise day, but I won't sweat it, since I usually get in at least 12,000 steps a day.  A day off once in a while is going to be fine.

Diane, I'm so sorry you're feeling puny, I hope you're home from the hospital soon. Please post and at least let us know how you're doing.

Carbon, as a woman with two knee replacements, I know how you feel about your knee pain.  It's all consuming sometimes, and it's difficult to concentrate on anything else but that.

Paula, I would love to have been at the luau with you, it's sounds like a really good one.  I haven't been to one almost 20 years, and I just remember that the food wasn't nearly as good as I wanted it to be, but the entertainment was a lot of fun.  It's terrible to remember the food more than anything else, but I guess we will always judge events by the food, no matter what weight we're at.

Devon, I can't remember, are you keeping Ace, or is he going to a forever home soon?  If you're keeping him are you going to breed him?  I love the pictures of your puppies and would love to see a recent one, to see what the little girl and Ace look like now.

Happy Friday everyone!  Have a wonderful weekend of fun, joy and love.

Hello!

Thank you all for being here.  This daily touchstone is so important to me and my journey.  And, I like all of you peeps, too!  So much collective personality out there.  DianeO, hope you are feeling better soon and that they have your antibiotics dialed in.

I'm at the Anchorage airport waiting for our flight home.  Wow, what a trip.  No idea what my weight will be tomorrow.  I had very little food outside of the RV --- one pulled pork sandwich on bun and another day had (ahem) blueberry pie with ice cream.  But, too much grazing on VSG ok RV foods whi*****luded high calorie items like trail mix and peanut butter.

Today's jeans fit aok so there is that.

I had hoped to come out of this trip more fit than I went in and I think that was accomplished no matter what my weight is.   Yesterday's hike was a mountain version of a stair stepper except that it included mud, rocks, exposed roots, and potential for bears.  In other words, wonderful!

Average daily steps for last 2 weeks: 20,400 (highest day:  >32,000)

Average daily floors for last 2 weeks 93 (highest day: 350)

I still need to thoroughly read past posts. My on-line capabilities have been seriously curtailed the last two weeks. DianeS, LOOKING FORWARD to pics of your art!!!!

Pic below (iPhone quality) of yesterday's view during my hike.
