Hello family. I'm at 113 again, still on a salt diet it seems. Thoroughly enjoying my homemade Quest Bars though. Well worth the small effort to get a fresh one every day. My current fav is white chocolate almond. Yum.

Yard work completed, now onto putting the house back to livable conditions. Good news here in Alberta - first wave of wildfire evacuees can return home today. Conditions are primitive but it's been deemed safe in some areas. Must be so emotional for them.

Hi all

Well great start to this day. First I plugged up the toilet.  I know TMI.  But down to 130.5. Then came out of the bedroom to the terrorist puppy. She was really on a rampage after everything in sight. I  decided that dragging on my bathrobe was no longer cute and have to put a stop to it. She is also after the other dogs and was chewing the wood work.  Was at the vet until fairly late last night (they run a night shift) and some emergency came in. I had old dog Liza there for a senior check up and mainly to see if she has arthritis (she does) and to get some pain relief for her. So I got some pills and they did some blood work.  She got a pill last night and seems to move a little more easily today.

Today its Dr. apt followed by four hour gallery shift followed by gallery board meeting.  Lots to do. Siders still pounding on the house so its good to have a reason to get out of here.

Mom had a nice birthday but her cranky roommate is acting up. suggested putting a harness on my niece't toddler.  ridiculous.

I have no children to buy treats for and Ron has different treat likes than I, so when I buy that stuff I know it's for me. DAMN!

Another good night of sleep - close to 7 hours, but not quite.

New scale goes back to Bed, Bath, and Beyond today. I figured the scale was a return because the box looked as if it had been opened and there was no battery (or else someone simply opened the box and took out the lithium battery). I had a brand new spare battery, so I used that. The battery was completely dead this morning. So, once again, I have no weight to report. Will return the blasted thing tonight and get another one. I'm hesitant to get the same model. Maybe will go back to the model I had previously, though it had it's issues, too.

Anyone have a scale they absolutely love? I don't mind ordering on line for a good product.

Good news is that my food was completely on point yesterday. 1405 cals, 125 protein, 99 carbs, 36 fiber (16 grams carbs came from 8 Tortilla chips and 3 TBS mashed potato leftovers). Tons of 0 calorie liquid (48 oz water, 24 oz java, 16 oz 0 Calorie flavored soda water thingy from Costco).

I'm guessing I'm down a pound or two given that I passed a lot of "water" yesterday and last night. Guess I'll know tomorrow.

I'll have to double check when I get home, but I'm pretty sure it's a Weigh****cher's digital scale that's clear and black glass - and yes, it measures right to the .1 lb.!  It has other features too, but I never have used them and couldn't tell you what they are.  I got it before surgery, so almost 5 years ago, and it's been quite reliable.  I just changed the batteries and I believe it was the first time I had to do that since I got it.  I can't remember how much I paid for it, but I know it was fairly inexpensive, and I got it at Walmart.

Thanks, Mary! That is the scale that I've had for years (the one ruined by the Moose!). The only issue I had with it is that it sometimes would get "stuck" on a weight. I'd have to pick up something quite heavy to get the scale to "reset". There is a newer WW model by Conair available that is also just a bit smaller. I may go ahead and get that one. It's the same price as the German made one that I'm taking back.

Oh no!  You mean when I get the same weight several days in a row, it might not be correct?  That could be good or bad news depending on which direction I'm going in.  :)  I'll have to bump it with something heavy to see if it changes!

I used to pick up my 16 pound Cairn terrier and get on the scale. That always worked. Since he passed it's slippers and a dog bed that are close by. LOL! But hopefully those days are over.

The scale gods seem to think it is in your best interest not to know your weight.   One can't argue with the scale gods.

Had a Taylor that lasted a a good 15 years.  It was a workhorse and accurate but only weighed to the 0.5 lb so I felt I had to replace when I got to maintenance (hello, addiction transfer to shopping)

Now I have Fitbit aria and have to admit that I rather like it transmitting my weight to all devices.  On occasion, the wifi piece has given me fits but then I moved it 6 ft to the other side of the bathroom so it is a bit closer to router (which is STILL all the way across the house) and haven't had more issues.  Of course it weighs to 0.1 and also seems quite accurate when compared to scales at work which I know are accurate.

If I didn't already have Fitbit and want the wifi piece, I probably would saved some dough and bought another Taylor.

I think the Aria is just too high tech for me. I was given a Fitbit the Christmas before last Christmas. I wore if for a while, but I realized it was not my thing. (The Fitbit always considered the repetitive movement of grooming dogs to be steps. Thus - not an accurate measurement for me.)

I suppose the scale gods are right. At least I got to weigh yesterday and see that my indiscretions over the long and sugar laden weekend did not do irreparable damage! Maybe tomorrow will bring even better news.

Homedics brand rocks. I have the cheapest scale and boy is it great! Most accurate scale EVER and I've had it for more than three years. Bought my daughter newer version a couple years ago and she swears by it too. Increments are .2 though
