Good Morning All !!

129.4 this AM.  Crazy schedule today.  Lots of interviewing candidates for teaching positions and today is our district's budget vote.

Sadie's incision looks great, and she had her stiches removed at yesterday's check-up. She needs cone for another day, as she now has tiny open spots from stiches.  I don't have to sling her anymore on stairs, and she needs to remain on 6' leash for limited trips outside to toilet at least two more weeks, until her next visit and x-ray to check bone healing.  I'm thinking she'll be ready for the pool about when the pool hits 75 degrees!

Have a grateful day forging your path !!

Diane

Glad Sadie's doing well!  Our Sammy does not like to get in the pool!  He was put in by my then 6 yr. old, and was quite scared - he got lots of TLC and she got a time out for that stunt!  He does seem to like to sit in a float on top of the pool and visit, though.  DH is his person, and he'll run around the pool to try to get close to where he is - so silly and fun to watch!

110!!!  Now that's a number that I rarely see, but I did put in some extra toilet time yesterday. Yup I was full of it - but you can't say that about me today

Ordered more VitaFibre today. I'm loving the syrup for making my own protein bars and I've found Kaizen whey isolate protein powders for the base. Nowhere near as sweet and made with stevia. And I have a fresh batch of yogurt to enjoy today too. Just call me Susie Homemaker lol yeah right

I'm experiencing just the opposite - I'm definitely full of it and it shows on the scale!  :)

Can you share your recipe for the protein bars, Linda?  Thanks!

Homemade Quest Protein Bars

Here are the recipe variations. I make the firm style with the VitaFiber syrup. I mix dry ingredients in bowl, heat VitaFiber for 20 secs in micro and add it to dry ingredients by stirring with spoon first and then hand forming bar. It takes awhile for the VitaFiber to cool and bind, so just keep working the mixture and bar will form. If it's too dry add a smidge more VitaFiber.

My current fav variation:

1 scoop Kaizen vanilla protein powder

2 tsp almond flour

1 square (.5 oz) premium dark baking chocolate

2 tbsp VitaFiber

The combos you can make are endless.  Other flavours of protein powder, using nuts, unsweetened coconut, smidge of dried fruit, etc

201.4

Baffled at how the weight is clinging on. I thought about it last night and had to correct my thinking. I had to remind myself that I need to carry on with what I know will work and just let my body do its thing.

Got 5 hours last night. I am hungry, hungry this morning. Here's a question in a roundabout way: I know that when one is lacking in sleep that the body can crave easy energy in the form of easy to digest carbs. I also know that when we are tired our ability to make good choices is lowered. Does lack of sleep also inhibit the body from letting go of weight? I do not know the answer to that. Do any of you? I would think not but, the body works in such interesting ways.

I am trying to get a post together on my warped sense of body image. It has sort of come up again since Saturday. My BFF brought a photo over of me in West Side Story in 1983. Looking at the photo triggered some interesting memories and feelings.

EDIT TO ADD: Yes, I started logging again yesterday. Roughly 1350 cals (which for me is WL level), but carbs were high at 82 - though all dairy and berries and vegetables.
