Checking in as I put another week down in the books for my weightloss challenge.
Today I weighed 155.2.
That's 4lbs. away from my 18 month post-op update, about 6lbs. from my lowest ever post-wls weight, and a mere -0.6lbs. from my weight this time last year. I'm feeling pretty good about this. The goal I set out to achieve was to be my lowest weight. It might be possible to lose 6 lbs. in my remaining 2 weeks. And if I can hit 4lbs. then I'll be at my low weight for the most part (since this was the only low weight I maintained). But regardless I'm going to stick to the plan for another 2 weeks and see what happens.
I went to Vegas last weekend. Left Thursday night, and returned Sunday night. I pretty much ate as I wanted. There are always some limitations to that--most notably sleeve size, but also don't drink sugary drinks (ick, makes my tummy hurt), pasta is extremely difficult to eat, and I think the only sweet I had was 1/2 chocolate chip cookie. And I walked a whopping 23,000+ steps on Friday and Saturday, causing my fitbit to estimate I could eat 3,500+ calories to maintain--whack. Still, that number of steps matched Rome for the most walking I've done in a day. So I was feeling pretty good about my time in Vegas. Until I stepped on the scale Monday morning. And all the real weight loss I'd experienced was obliterated--160.2!! How could that be? I didn't feel that it was physically possible for me to have gained a pound each day I was on vacation, given that I walked so much, and I'm not sure I could physically put away 3500+ calories a day. And the scale stayed convinced on Tuesday. But thank goodness yesterday all 3lbs. came off, and today another 2. I'm quite convinced it was water weight. Whew.
My husband has joined me and he's very competitive. It's definitely a lot easier with a companion. Watching the Thunder game Tuesday night he wanted to make real popcorn. Luckily I was able to dissuade him because the smell of fresh popcorn might have been irresistible.
I'm keeping my calories below 1000, and sometimes as low as 750-800. And I'm walking. I've been fairly physically satisfied. Only time I have an issue with that is occasionally in the morning, and then most often when I get off work. I've eliminated snacks and it's a long break from lunch until dinner at about 7:30. Dinners have been primarily a protein and a low carb vegetable. I'll throw in fruit, or a dessert piece of chocolate for the carbs because I have no interest in going into ketosis.
So the plan for now is to keep this up for the next two weeks. As I've said in the past "I can do anything for 2 weeks." And then I will enjoy Key West. Depending on the gain there, I will probably resume this programme for 1-2 weeks to eliminate that weigh****er weight. And once I'm touching the 140s, I will add a little more variety and calories and hopefully slowly lose down to my goal. Not sure where that is right now. I think I'll know a lot more in 2 weeks.
Awesome job ! You've captured "it" !! How exciting to have your husband join you !!!

121.6 this morning. Surely I am now dry. Recall that on Monday I was 127.8. That is a big swing even for this water-logged body.
Let's see, Paula is on-the-dot, Carbon on plan and BB well on her way. Great start to the day!
I made it to yoga yesterday so no longer feeling murderous. (Not being homicidal is my contribution to the great start.) Also a bunch of steps.
Devon, you are SKINNY. You will get the feeling back! Funny how that feeling comes and goes. Love those puppy pictures, by the way. And, you look great, too.
Have a great day, my peeps,
Shel

Good Morning!
Wow, everyone's doing awesome!
Paula have fun!
Bonnie and Carbon - I am amazed by the number of steps! Glad you had fun in Vegas Bonnie!
Shel - I love your contribution! Moving does take the emotions back down to a more even keel, doesn't it?
Still not weighing, for my emotional self-preservation, though I expect I'll be able to handle what I see within the next few days. Food continues to be low carb, and within a reasonable amount of calories. Fluids have been up there every day, as well. Feeling upbeat today! Between the food being in a good place, the beautiful (finally) warm spring weather, and excitement for recital coming soon, I'm feeling good. I do need to move more. Today I'm back to doing the loop each time I print something, and I'm up over 2000 steps already (if I add in the steps, including up and down stairs a few times, this morning that weren't recorded). Yesterday, I thought of going for a long walk with DH, but by the time dinner was over and we'd cleaned up, my resolve was gone and I was plunked down in front of the TV watching my beloved Red Sox beat the A's. This morning, I looked at the yard and thought I may do some work out there when I get home. We'll see if that really happens. :) Our office hours changed on 5/2, and I'm now getting out 1/2 hour earlier, which feels like such a luxury! I actually get a little time to not rush about, and the morning commute is a breeze, as I no longer get caught up in the school traffic.
Have a great Thursday!
Hugs, Mary
Good morning! I'm down to 111 this morning. Why do I feel scrawny at this weight? And ever so slightly pudgy at 114? Lol. The old tapes are fading but they're definitely still there.
Had a very sleepy day and was feeling a smidge unwell yesterday. Still feel like I could sleep today away but will try not to. Weird. I actually missed lunch yesterday. Now that's an incredibly rare thing for me! It seems the only cir****tance that can happen is when I sleep the day away :).
It's snowing here this morning! Sweater day. We've had so little winter weather this year so it's incredibly strange to see snow. It's not cold enough to stick though, so more like big flakes of rain. Nevertheless the fruit trees are well on their way and the spring flowers are almost done.
ADD - Dr Nowzaradan and two of his My 600 Pound Life patients are going to be featured at OH Conference this year. Might have to get there for that! The work he's doing with heavy weights is so important and it must take a lot of patience on his part to work through all the obstacles they face.
