Supah Saturday to ya Skinnies!

I can hardly believe it is the 2nd week of May.  126 this morning, markedly up because of I-don't-care salt grazing yesterday.  I like to blame my husband for making a lot of poor food choices available but yesterday's salt-fest was 100% me.  Some I bought because "good fats" and some salty things for my daughter (truly advised by her neurologist) but having whole bags available within 3 feet of me is all on me.

That's enough about me!  How about you?  Diane S, I find myself thinking about you and your mom as I try to work with families so we can combine to provide good care for the patient.  Easier typed than done despite everyone's best intentions.  I love hospice caregivers, by the way.  Exceptional people, 100% patient advocates.

Of course Sadie is on my mind --- hope she is finding some ease as the days go by.

Ok, ready to post.  We shall see if one of the usual early birds have already beat me to it.

Shel

Back at ya !  The sun is actually peeking out today.

127.6 today. I grazed on some whole wheat crackers and aged cheese while waiting for my entrée, then indulged in some espresso ice cream for dessert. Bless my restriction, with the ice cream. My sleeve just does not like to add more after dinner, which is an AWESOME thing I won't ever try to "work around".

Going to take advantage of the break in the rain to get some yard work done. Sadie continues to improve and with that comes additional challenges of keeping her calm and quiet.

Have a skinny day !!!!

Morning all. I'm at 113 and rushing out the door for a full day's ride on International Female Ride Day!  Riding with about 100 women through the countryside and causing a ruckus in numerous villages along the way!

Have a good one!

I woke up and for that I am grateful!

Was in full addict mode yesterday. Makes me sad.

Onward.

Yes, Onward.  I hope today is better!

I saw you liked a post the other day either on the vsg or general forum that recommended 2 apps. It helped the op with binge eating. (I think it was binge eating, I hate to characterize it incorrectly.) I am hoping they can help me with days like yesterday so that I contain salt-fest to as short of time as possible.  But I suppose they can't help if I haven't put them on my phone.

Yes that post was about a CBT tool. It really is the only therapy approach that has proven success with eating disorders and other addictions. I've done a lot of work with this modality, both in terms of delivering it and receiving it. I downloaded the app but haven't looked at it yet.

I'd be very interested in your thoughts / recommendations.

You are here.  Please don't let the sadness overwhelm you. You have some challenges yes, but you have everything you need to set the course. No more sugar, my friend. It is messing you up and not worth it.  Not forever, but for now.

I'm fine - recovering and low key.

Today has been clean, clean, clean.... Sadness was partly due to the sugar hangover (other people get that, right? Not just me?) and a really rough night sleep wise. I had taken a nap yesterday, but slept too long and as a result could not get tired last night. When I finally fell asleep close to 3:00 I had bizarre dreams - unsettling. Got up at 4:30 for one of the dogs. Then again at 7:00 to feed and clean the pups. Was up for 45 minutes and then dozed for another hour. So, again, not much sleep.

Funny was sitting on the pot (yes, the crap eating is great for crap production! LOL) thinking that it's really just sugar that's the problem. I can handle all sorts of carbs in moderation, but not the sugar. If I was having any doubts about that on an unconscious/subconscious level last week, I think I proved to myself what needed proving.

Thank you for the encouragement and support! XO!
