124.4 today. Got my 45 minutes of exercise in yesterday, eating could have been better. We went out to eat for Cinco de Mayo! Too many chips with guac! At least the scale doesn't show it (yet).

Work today and all weekend. The downside of working in Healthcare is having to staff 365 days/year. Weather is supposed to be gorgeous today - I'll have to take a walk outside after dinner!

Fabulous Friday Fierce Friends!

Good Morning !  I like the thought of being fierce heading into this weekend.  I'm going to add "focused" to my take on the Friday alliteration .... TGIF Fierce, Focused Friends !!!

I'm going out to eat with friends tonight, have invited neighbors for a BBQ tomorrow, and am going to a Mother's Day buffet in Syracuse with my siblings, mother, and youngest daughter on Sunday.

Shel... your logic regarding the water weight feature on my scale is sound.  Why use bad technology to try to generate usable data ?  My repeat BOD POD is next Thursday the 12th. At 141 pounds in January my body analysis was 22.3% fat.  I'm eager to see a comparison at 127 pounds even, which is where I am today.  I did upgrade from a Tushi step counter to a Fitbit One.  I have linked everything to My Fitness Pal, so will be continuing to log in a daily weight and maintain an accurate food data to inform that data. Please message me with your MFP username and/or Fitbit username if you would be interested in being added to my MFP Friends, so that we can share data.  Carbon... I still would like to consistently hit half of your daily steps !!

So, TGIF Fierce, Focused Friends !!!

125.2 today, after I had eaten an unusual early morning yogurt.  Weird start to a busy day.  I am always (perhaps overly) optimistic every morning that I can complete all that I want to do.

Yoga yesterday and a good amount of steps.  Eating on trac****il 30 minutes before bed and even that wasn't terrible. Moving on.   Diane O, I'll be your friend on fitbit!  Will PM you this weekend.  I think I would be weird about sharing MFP, tho, which just shows how un-neutral I am about food. But, hard enough to be honest with just myself as the soul audience.

Fun!  Fabulous FUN Friday Fierce Friends :)

Good Mornng!!  I'm thrilled to be finished with this week!  It's been crazy busy with end of the year stuff.  Next week should prove to be a little more relaxing as we're going to the outdoor classroom. Food has and will be a challenge.  I'm 162# this morning...too many carbs!  So, back at it today!! Wednesday was not a stellar day  with food.

Anyway, nephew graduation, Mother's Day, Andy's birthday coming my way...

Mowing today and may try a new Greek restaurant which will be easy to manage.  I'm going to try to get a walk in to,  The weather is beautiful!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.  Kisses for Sadie!  Thinking of Lorna.

Good morning everyone.

calories were1098 but not the greatest of choices.  Steps were15,031.  The usual walking plus cutting grass.  Honestly I can hear the dang thing grow.

going to an  private afternoon gathering where there is bound to be poor food options but it would feel weird to take my own.    Have to push the protein before and fill the glass with water.

Have a good one.

In new York times --- a neuroscientist's take on dieting and why it doesn't work   It is about traditional dieting, I don't believe WLS is factored in (this is the time of day I am scanning stuff, not fully reading)   I hope the link works, it appears super long!

Happy Friday Fab Friends!  I'm back down to 113 this morning. Not a bad food day yesterday but a bit of wandering through the kitchen in the evening.  But no indulgences.

Great article Shel thanks for linking it here. I was reminded of my very first real 'deprivation' diet at age 20. My weight had crept up over a few years to 143 although I was perfectly happy with my appearance. Long story of how it happened but I joined WW for the first time and I hated the food I was eating. Lost about 10 hard won pounds and then had my first experience with binging - ate most of a chocolate cake that was in the freezer. I was mortified and that was pretty much the beginning of the end for me in terms of having any peace with food and keeping any kind of handle on my weight.

I agree that the mindful eating practice is important, as is establishing habits and routines that are reasonable and pleasant.  Self reflection - it still takes a great deal of effort for me to eat mindfully, but the routines and habits are easy now - I prefer following them.

193.  11 pounds to get back on my detoured path.  It's moving back down, slowly considering how quickly it went up, but that is the way my life goes.  I cannot change that, I have to accept it and stick to the rules.  I was not drinking enough water and was making it more of priority for my kidney health.  I realized that this is probably making the biggest difference in getting rid of this quick 15-lb. gain.
