All I can say is that the "seasonal shift" is what I've personally experienced. Summer means the pool is open, the neighborhood is lovely to walk in, and fresh fruits and vegetables from farmer's markets abound. Heartier meals with a great deal more emphasis on root vegetables and carbs are replaced by grilled chicken and planked fish and fresh vegetables. And maybe subconsciously I dread shorts, tees, and swimsuits enough to cut back the food intake.
And of course then there are the holidays with endless parties and people bringing in baked goodies, etc. from Halloween through Valentine's
I don't really have an answer. Just more of an observation. So long as you do actually get rid of any winter bulk. That's always my concern. That 5, 10, 15 pounds add up
Good Afternoon!!!
My morning started off with golf ball size hail waking me from a dead sleep. I did, however, manage to go back to sleep. I had coffee in bed literally as I spilled my HOT coffee all over my leg. Luckily, I had covers on and my mattress pad is a good one. So, I'm doing laundry this morning. I tried to walk this morning but after 20 minutes I got rained on...it was kinda refreshing! I had a good workout with my trainer. I'm going to enjoy the rest of the day listening to the rain, watching the birds and puttering around the house. Handbell rehearsal tonight. We're going to play on Sunday.
Food has been in ck for a few days. Scale is not rewarding me yet, but it will. I'd really like to quit f*^%=+* around and get this weight off by the end of June for my 4 year surgiversary. My Spring Break goal was not achieved. I will not give up, though.
When I read "Seasonal Shift" in my head I read "Seasonal ****"...lol
Happy Monday!!!
Greetings Warriors in Weight
Maybe its not good to think of this project as a war or battle. Devon's approach of making peace with food and weight and thereby maintaining is probably better. Amazing how many approaches we all have to this. Maybe we should do a study on our mental attitudes and see after a year what seems to be working best.
130.5 today. No loss but no gain. I am down from the Dr. Cirangle 2 pound challenge but I have to report in to him later in the month. Ate 3 hershey kisses yesterday. Amazing that I can eat three when there is a whole bag in there which has been there for weeks. Hubby buys it, not me. not sure why he buys it. (well duh its because he wants to eat it and wants me to eat it).
Yikes, today I just realized our property taxes are due. Fortunately I found I could pay them on line and don't have to drive 15 miles to the courthouse. And income taxes loom. started printing forms last night and the printer spit purple ink all over them and the other printer ran out of ink. Hubby was not pleased with me. But since we are both technically retired, taxes should be easier (and cheaper) this year.
Hubby's sister may be moving back to the midwest. That will be hard for him as they are close. But they have other family back there that they miss so I get it.
Well off to the studio to see what came out of the kilns. and print print print tax forms.

188 -- Four lbs. of gain lost. Six more to go until I can continue my journey where I left off.
My new UP3 band arrived yesterday. It is so pretty, black and gold twist. It has a heart rate monitor (which I know is not to be depended upon) but it is very cool and has my resting heart rate as 65, which is considered "excellent" for my age. I have almost 5,500 steps today and have tracked everything I have eaten. That was the worst part of not having my fitness band, my tracking slipped. I was telling myself I was keeping track, but not like this. Something about having all of this information analyzed forces me to input everything. As usual, my head is my biggest problem.
Hey y'all (that's my Americanspeak Canadians don't say that). I'm at 113 today, likely still recovering from the salty pizza. DD is coming over for dinner so it will be good to see her.
Long story, but our 20 year old nephew has recently gotten himself into a boatload of trouble with cocaine. He's currently gaming the system and DH wanted to let him come here tonight but I did not agree. I've worked in the addictions area (and of course have my own struggles with food) so refuse to contribute to the problem. I think DH is alright with my approach but it takes constant reminding/reframing. It's so easy to get sucked in.
