124.6 - up 1 lb. Calories up again yesterday (potluck at our house) and no exercise. Things will be better today!
I saw my electrophysiologist (doctor that manages my heart rhythm and defibrillator) yesterday about possibly having my defib relocated. My upper body is so thin that I have no padding around the defib and my extra skin allows it to move around too much - at times (like during yoga) it catches under my clavicle - it also moves almost into my neck if I raise my arm while lying down and sticks out into my arm pit if I cross my arm in front of my body. There is risk of it eroding through the skin since there isn't enough fat to protect it. The EP nurse said she had only seen 2 other people as thin as me with a defib. The options are to move it down into my stomach or to move under my breast. I am hoping for option #2 and hope I can have it done along with breast lift and augmentation and have some of that surgery paid for by insurance! At least my medical leave would be paid for! I'll be calling the PS office today!
Snowing again today. When will this crappy weather end? I am so over winter!
Happy Thursday everyone!

Good Morning Supah Sistahs and Badass Bro !
I'm using our "family salutation" because there were many protective and responsive siblings in evidence yesterday !!! The discussion about gateway foods, the clarification that anything that doesn't fuel a healthy body and mind is, in fact, a"treat ", and the reminder about how slowly and insipidly "stinkin thinkin" can creep back in and overcome our best intentions.... POWERFUL STUFF !! I am grateful to have all of you in my life !!
Last night, after re-reading yesterday's entries and doing some journaling, I did create a NOT Fuel category in MFP. I went back a day, and moved the ice cream there. (I also did melt it down the drain as soon as I walked in the door.) That is also where I put my glass of wine last night. Bottom line, if it doesn't fuel my body or mind, it is NOT fuel, and I need to call a spade a spade and be aware and accountable.
Sadie has an almost total rupture of her CCL (dog's ACL). The vet sent the x-rays off to the surgeon, and we'll be setting up a date for surgery ASAP, so she doesn't miss too much pool time, which will be good for her recovery. I've let her breeder know, as there can be a genetic pre-disposition toward these issues, and she tracks her lines carefully.
128.6 today. I'm not going to stress, and will "relax in to" where my body wants to be in terms of movement down below several red lines now. My "fail safe" is my May 18th one year follow-up with my bariatric center. I am also going to schedule a repeat Bod Pod, as I was 141 for the last one, and I'm curious as to how my percentages would look now. Knowledge is power.
Have a great day !

Poor Sadie! I'm so sorry Diane. Not fun for her at all. Not an easy recovery, if I recall. Lots of forced "quiet" time. I'm wishing Sadie (and you) thee very best outcome!
May I ask a couple of questions? First, what breed is Sadie? Also, would you mind telling me at what age Sadie was spayed and if you allowed her to have her first heat cycle before spaying? Thanks!
Sadie is a yellow lab, who turned two 12/25. I took my vet's recommendation and had her spayed BEFORE her first heat cycle, at seven months. The vet has been wanting her 75-80 pounds, when she was 85-90. In hindsight, I should have let her have her first heat cycle. I always had male Bernese Mountain Dogs, and I simply didn't know better.

I was curious because there is a growing body of research that is indicating that early spaying and neutering is doing far more damage as dogs age than if we allowed the dogs to reach physical and sexual maturity before spaying. This is particularly true in some of the larger breeds. What they have discovered is that when a dog (like a human) reaches sexual maturity the release of estrogen and testosterone is what signals the growth plates to close. Early spaying and neutering interferes with this message and we see the evidence of dogs with elongated limbs. They appear to be 'leggy" as adults and sometimes out of proportion (sometimes so slight only a true dog person would notice). So, I don't go on and on - the studies indicate that dogs and *****es neutered and spayed before the onset of puberty have a much higher rate of joint issues as they age. They also have a higher rate of ligament and tendon failure, the CCL being one of the most common.
Something to ponder should you get another fur kid.
PS - I groomed one of the pups from my last litter and against my advice the owners spayed her before her first heat. Jazz is longer legged and far more narrow in the chest than her siblings. Her owner reports that she is favoring her one of her rear legs after vigorous activity.
That's fascinating info and something to remember. Makes a lot of sense
