When I was about to give birth (ie, in active labor) I wanted fun carb foods, too!  (It would be more newsworthy if there was actually a time I didn't want fun carbs.)   Go Blue!

Hi All!  Well, I went to my appointment, and it was with a new PA.  I really liked her!  I owned the gain, but that it's still less than what I'd gone up to, and I'm working on it going back down.  There were no recriminations, nothing said or done to make me feel less than.  We talked about my typical diet, which she felt was good.  My labs, which were done a few months back, were great - B12 still high, even though I stopped taking weekly supplements more than 2 years ago.  The only thing was my vitamin D was a little low, but I took the 12 week course of a very high dose, and take calcium with Vit. D daily, so she felt all was fine.  A big burden was lifted.  However, I was so hungry that I scoffed down 2 Quest bars and some nuts by the time I got back to town, an hour away.   I have continued to eat more nuts, so I do anticipate a gain tomorrow.  Old habits of, 'phew, that's over, now I can eat" still plague me.  Got to work on getting rid of that tape once and for all!!

I also have to start putting down my actual weight, which I haven't wanted to, due to that old roadblock called embarrassment.  However, if I share my dirty little secret, I can let go of the shame and move on.  So, in the name of being transparent, my weight this morning at home was 204.5 - about 25 lbs. more than my goal weight that I'd reached and gone a couple of lbs. below about 3 years ago.  There, I did it!!!  The feeling of freedom is still not there, but it's on its way.

Have a great rest of the day!

Hugs, Mary

Transparency doesn't come naturally to me, either, but I think I have to do it this time around.  There is something freeing about saying(*#)()@--IT! Let the number fly, and then move on.  Posting the number drains it of power me-thinks.  I have to remind myself of that over and over.

Glad you got the appointment out of the way and it was actually a good appointment!

I totally get the freedom of posting the number! I had to finally do it myself to move on!

Thanks Shel and Devon!  It was really hard to hit the 'submit' button, but once I did, I felt better.

Greetings Struggling Skinnies

Sounds like everyone is in a bit of a struggle of one kind or another. Must be a phase of the moon. Or maybe its just part of life.

Diane Ocean, so sorry for what you are going through. Chuck will come to regret this. Spoil yourself - not with fattening food - but with good expensive seafood or a pedicure.

Blech on black jelly beans.  If I were in a desert with nothing else to eat I would not eat them.  I think its the only food in the world I don't like - that and Easter peeps.

Down to 130.5 today so recovered from easter madness.

Lack of sleep causes weight gain.  Not sure Carbon how you get around it except take benedryl. I use prescription Ambien and it works well. But Kairk you are gonna have to stay awake with those puppies! Sounds like any minute they will pop out. Can't wait.

Remember that making mistakes is sometimes what we have to do to learn better.  So don't beat yourself up over a food boo boo. Learn from it.

Sunny day so time to get outside.     diane s

Diane, I'm with you on peeps - yuck!!!!  Black jelly beans, on the other hands, were always a favorite, along with the malted milk robins eggs.  I have, in the past, eaten so many black jelly beans at once, that my poop turned bright green!!  :)  The 'black' coloring in the jelly beans is actually a highly concentrated dark green that looks black.  Sorry, if this is TMI, heehee

Hi, forgot to mention one cool thing. Someone made a mustard aspic as a side dish to ham. it was fabulous.   I think it did have some cream in it but no reason you couldn't make it using ff sour cream or ricotta or something.  It would be a great thing with fish or chicken. Gotta work on a bariatric friendly version.     diane s
