Good Morning Svelte Spring Soulmates -
133's today. (Up a full pound). Oh, how things have changed. In the past, a pound wouldn't even make me blink. I have been totally on plan. Yesterday, I swam a mile and walked four. I know I'm holding fluid. My logical side is taking this blip in stride. I'm having difficulty not getting sucked in to old reactions today. Have to work on that. Latest research is saying it takes 60+ days to solidify a new habit, rather than the former 21. I'll keep plugging away at new habits !
It is a four day week for most of us.... nice!

It's Monday! Don't know where the weekend went! Scale tipped down to 112 this morning, which is a nice way to start the week.
I got out with Violet yesterday afternoon and it was awesome! Joy oh joy! Nerves didn't get the best of me and I'm off to a good start!
Meeting a friend for coffee this afternoon but my house needs some attention this morning. Have a wonderful day :-)

Diane O those darn tapes. Glad they're not getting the best of you. I can attest that they lose their strength as your success builds over time.

Happy Monday, my peeps!
19,003 steps yesterday! (Paula, why couldn't it have been 19,000?)
This morning's weight: 123.1. My last weight before conference was 123.7. For the month of March, I have been trying out 122-124 as my hang out weight. I'm feeling positively Linda-like!
A couple of learnings from the conference:
Is gleeful food tourism ok? Yes!
Is it ok to order extra food "for tomorrow" or take leftovers back to the hotel room fridge? No. When it was in the fridge, the mental anguish of resistance made me miserable. Then, I ultimately, capitulated anyway. It was not gleeful. Thank goodness for VSG restriction.
I also want to pause to acknowledge how ordering extra food for tomorrow was such a predictably bad idea on many levels. Truly a blast from the disordered part of my brain. And I know that part of my brain wasn't expecting the food to last until the next day. I truly recognized all this as it happened but went thru with it anyway. Well, its a process....
Good to be home!
Have a skinny day!

Michelle I had a feeling your weight would be the same. It takes time to build trust in what you're doing but I'm confident you will accomplish that. The scale easily handles little blips - it's actually very smart :-)

Shel I meant to add that there's a reason surgeons don't put the rest of our stomachs back after we lose weight. Restriction is one of the tools we need for the rest of our lives. We, the eating disordered ones, will need our restriction to keep us on track.

The restriction really is an amazing thing! The next day, I looked at what was still leftover. If I hadn't been the one doing the raiding, it would have been hard for even me to tell that someone had been into it. Grateful every day!

Nice job processing, learning, then sharing! You are appreciated !!!

I really appreciate that you wrote this part. It is truly honest and it also illustrates to me the human element that stays with us after weight loss. Your understanding that on a deep level you knew that the food was not meant to last until the next day shows great insight - especially since you knew it and went ahead and saw it through. I have done this type of thing, too. I will tell you that it does get easier as time goes on. It has not gone away for me, but it is easier each time I travel and get more practice doing it the right way for me.
Welcome home and revel in all the success you did have - lots of walking, staying on point most of the time, and coming home a little less than when you left. Yay, you!
