TGIF Extraordinary Sleevers !!!
Linda... great post about perceptions about "normies". Perceptions and generalities can be double edged swords. We are extraordinary because we are dedicated and determined to do the hard work necessary to know ourselves and make peace with our relationship with food. That process is a whole different challenge at goal, without the rigid rules and compliance required for our initial weight loss. It's all about finding that "sweet spot". Bonnie.. you were missed here. I'm sorry you had a rough go of it on the main VSG board. Don't hesitate to use the "block" feature... life it too short.
133 even today. Up 1.2. Yesterday was my planned higher than typical carbs/sugar day. I had buttered rye toast with breakfast, white rice sushi and wine for dinner and ended up substituting Ben & Jerry's cookie dough Greek yogurt for my anticipated cheesecake. (Some of that cookie dough talk DID get into my head !) After I ate the portion of B & J, I put the rest down the sink. I'm not sure I can recall EVER having a significant remainder of a pint of frozen anything left !! Gleefully and mindfully enjoyed every bite, and carbs and sugar back in line today, with a good water flush.
Hoping we get the snow storm. Shoveling is great exercise, and the snow will be short lived. I'd love to use the gas in the snow blower up, so we don't have to drain and waste it.

Good morning fit friends. My scale is at 114 today. Last evening was quite stressful due to an extended family issue and I REALLY wanted to eat my way through it! I had a smallish serving of meat and cheese but boy was I jonesin' for sweets. I looked long and hard at the cookies in the cupboard but I was able to make a good decision standing right in front of them.
I was up early to drive DH to work. He has been wearing a boot cast and the pain is less. He was fitted for an orthotic yesterday, and can ditch the cast when the insert arrives in a couple of weeks.
Off to work in a few hours. It's not sweater weather, nor is it spring-like out there. What to wear? What to wear? Yup - first world problems.

Good morning, Supah Sleevers!
One time a middle schooler filled out a feedback form on something I did in the classroom and she said I was Supah! So, that's not a typo. I say it in my best middle school girl growl.
Linda, count me in as a fan of your Normie post. You have a knack of putting nebulous concepts into coherent thought. As someone who has read a million medical charts, pretty much everyone has SOMETHING that they have to manage even tho it might not be as visible as my former hip and thigh fat. My fundamentals aren't going to change so I need to learn how to manage with what I have. The VSG has given me an edge and hope that I can be more successful. Bonnie, you are going to come out of this time of self reflection better than ever which is saying a lot because you ARE a success story.
I'm pretty happy with travel strategies on this trip. I deliberately didn't pack just-in-case food on day of travel because past history told me I would eat all of that (and more!) and on a short trip with plenty of food around, it wasn't needed.
I did stock my hotel fridge/room with VSG friendly ingredients that I can pull together for simple meals. There is still such a PULL to try out every restaurant recommended by the Uber drivers.
I am going to try out a Vegan restaurant today. But, just delaying the gratification by a day tempered my inner conflict to simultaneously push/pull to both desire to overeat while desperately not wanting to overeat. I know if I had gone yesterday, that inner turmoil would keep me from full enjoyment and very likely would have over-eaten. This morning I am looking forward to a VSG portioned meal. I'll need to eat some in-room turkey to make up the protein deficit. Neutrality found.
No scale today, so here are my fitbit stats from yesterday: 16075 steps, 15 floors. I also did some swimming (I am not a good swimmer so not necessarily much of a work out) And, I made it to a yoga class. Diane O, my active boobs are not floatation devices. I double checked by putting them in a sink of water. Sort of a creepy thing to look at.
Have a Supah day!

Good morning!
I did not get on the scale today, but I feel thinner. I feel calmer about things, too.
Once again, I really appreciate the support on this board.
I did have more to drink than my one Guinness. But I'll choose to focus on the things I did right yesterday. I had only half of my lunch, and no snac****il I got a protein wrap before heading out to St. Pat's party.
Today the weather is much colder. Crazy spring weather cannot seem to make up its mind. Yesterday evening I was sleeveless outdoors! And today the high is only 50. I think I may have jumped the gun in changing over my wardrobe to spring!
Hi all!
Yes, I'm happy it is Friday! Yes, indeed!
Linda-loved the post on the main VSG board. I'm standing behind you on that singing Amen, Sistah, amen! Also, sorry for your upset yesterday, but sounds like you navigated rather well, all things considered. Stress is a *****!
Diane, wishing for snow? I'm sitting here freezing my tuckus off as it was in the low 50s this morning and you're wishing for snow. I'm wishing for California heat! LOL! But.... we need more rain!
197 today. Glad to be rid of the two + pounds at least! Two more and I'll be back at the drawing board and then onward. Ever wonder why it comes on so quickly and takes double or triple the time to go away? I have and still do! Read somewhere this week that we formerly MO are programmed to fill those fat cells much more readily than those who have never been obese. Damn! Just proves what Linda says - we are not normal! Well, I've always lived somewhat out of the box anyway, even when I was still in the closet!
Had a great cardio workout yesterday. Almost 3.75 miles on the elliptical in 45 minutes using interval training and a high level of intensity.
Need to keep my head above water and on track this weekend. MUST MAINTAIN MY FOCUS.
Happy Friday!

The creeping crud is finally on it's way out the door, and I'm getting back into the world of the living, breathing, human race. 148.0 this morning, and considering that I must have eaten at least 50 cough drops and drank more non-alcoholic NyQuil than I thought possible, I'm happy that I've only gained a ½ pound this week. I will probably still have to take the NyQuil to get through the night, but the cough drops are, I hope, a thing of the past.
Not enough exercise today, but I work tomorrow and I always get lots of steps in on days that I work. Sunday, my hubby and I are going to take a short hike to see if I'm feeling good enough to go for a long one at the beginning of next week.
Have a great weekend everyone! Safe travels to our friends flitting around the country, this should be a great time of the year to travel. Kairk, If you want great weather, come to Orange County, we are loving the wonderful sunshine and heat right now.
