Happy St. Patrick's Day fellow skinny Leprechauns!
123.2 today. Eating has been off lately, not showing up too much on the scale yet but if I don't reign it in I know it will!
As I said in another post this week, I'm super busy as it is play week in our family. I was up until midnight making chocolate covered pretzel rods with sprinkles, heath bits and nuts to sell for concessions. Yes, I ate some! Feeling a bit of a sugar rush today (and it doesn't feel good, kinda like too much caffeine!)
Another follow-up with my gallbladder/vein surgeon this morning and a webinar at noon. I might try and make corned beef and cabbage with red potatoes for dinner tonight in the Instant Pot.
May the luck of the Irish be with you all today!
Top o' the mornin' to ya!! St. Paddy's Day is a civic holiday in Newfoundland (the part of Canada I grew up in). I miss that!
My scale is still sitting nicely at 113 and my food choices were better yesterday. Still feeling a little unsettled but certainly not off the rails. Thinking about sweets but limiting myself to Quest Bars to deal with that. Will replenish my stevia sweetened chocolate supply too.
I have beautiful homemade yogurt to eat today. Yay! Devon, for the failed batches, I think I had not cooled the milk enough before adding the culture. The thermometer I used was a bit pokey getting up to full temp and I was in a bit of a hurry so likely didn't quite get it down to 118.
Would love to try something with the pressure cooker feature but haven't gotten the courage yet. Not sure I completely grasp the concepts behind pressure cooking but I'll give it a try when I've got time to play around with it.
Thinking of Diane S and Shel this morning as they set off on their travels.

I had greek yogurt this morning for breakfast. It was only ok. I am officially a yogurt snob. Glad yours worked out. I don't know if it matters, but the temp I usually see mentioned as safe for starter is 115. But, I'm no expert and maybe someone was just rounding.

Good morning from San Diego!
Paula! Does too much caffeine really exist? I love me a caffeine rush!
No scale in my hotel room. It has occurred to me that if I eat a bunch of salt that I won't have to suffer the faux consequence of watching water weight go up for a couple of days.
While here, my food plan is to lay down a new groove of travel=eating light. My old groove was travel=constant eating. This made me feel bad both physically and mentally which paradoxically made me want to eat even more. My feedback loops were broken.
The conference hasn't officially started so I have some time today. I already found my inner Diane O by getting in the pool. (1st time in about 10-12 years! With new ActiveBoobs!)
I also plan on channeling my inner Carbon for steps. I thought about channeling Kairk for squats and Lorna/Paula for exercise warrior but I'm not sure I am quite ready to commit to that.
I brought my own yoga mat because I am obsessed. I know I will hit up at least one yoga class tonight (yin) and if things go well, maybe 2 (vinyassa plus yin.)
Feeling at peace even tho I miss my peeps and pets. The stars are clearly aligned because I happen to be wearing green.
Have a skinny-licious day!
Shel

Hotel rooms used to be one of my favourite places to binge eat. I'd clear out the mini fridge stock each day. Sometimes I'd buy some of the stuff and put it back so the maids wouldn't know.

Hello Clever and Playful Skinny Sleeved Leprechauns !!!!
131's I intentionally wove in clever and playful because, darn it Kairk... if you weren't right yet again. Some of my focus on the "naughtiness" of making off plan choices is shifting to a place of greater peace with food. I'm really starting to internalize and believe that I can choose to eat anything I want after: looking at why I truly want it; identifying what any physiological cost may be attached if it is sugar/carb based; and then planning for it if I'm willing to pay that price. I am working to no longer look at unplanned food as "naughty", "failure", "bad". I am focusing on those instances as an opportunity to collect information about myself and my reactions to foods for the next time.
Is this all in place and habituated ?!!! Absolutely NOT !!! Putting it into words certainly helps, though. I am slowly realizing how much deprivation impacts sustainability !! Thank you all for sharing so many powerful insights !!
