Happy Wednesday Svelte Ones !!

We've made it to Hump Day on the first week of setting those darn clocks ahead. I have had more caffeinated coffee in the afternoons this week, than the entire time I have been sleeved !

132's today. I wasn't as mindful about my "pot luck" eating as I wanted to be. I made some good choices, but ended up standing and talking/eating and didn't think enough about bite size and rate of eating. I've learned that in the future, I will always bring a protein dish. The number of people using crappy oils to prepare foods still amazes me, and I didn't catch it in one dish immediately (because I wasn't eating mindfully), and my sleeve let me know before my taste buds did. I'm with Kairk... if I gain, it should be "gleefully earned" and thoroughly enjoyed.

All of the talk about oatmeal and homemade protein bars has me looking at recipes I could modify to make a "healthy granola" to put on Greek yogurt.

Have a great day !

123 on the dot - I kinda like on the dot numbers too Shel! Spent almost the whole day cleaning! Got 10,000 steps in and 27 flights of stairs without any "formal" exercise! Hosting bible study tonight. I'm not prepared. The house will be clean but I have not done any of the homework! We are doing a video series on tough questions regarding Christianity - talking about mental health issues tonight.

Happy Hump Day!

Morning all

the Ides got me big time.    Had prepared for a 6pm meeting by bringing own food and was smugly ejoying the kind comments of ' o how smart '  from people who were chowing down on pizza and sweets.

Pride goeth before a fall.

came home and ate/inhaled four LARGE pieces of an oatmeal bar.  Consequently had leg cramps so spent the night walking them off and drinking water.

Am trying to think of the why.

Carbon - please see my response to Diane O., which was partially meant for you!  Forgive me - my advancing age and fading memory is showing today!

Sitting here with my fat cat on my lap.  He's very affectionate by nature and I have his full attention! He loves his morning cuddles.

I'm at 113 this morning. As I mentioned, yesterday was a weird day and it showed in my food choices. I was a bit binge-like but fortunately the behaviour didn't carry into the evening hours. Another contributing factor was I didn't have much dense protein available.

Attended my second Foundations Yoga class yesterday. Had to push myself to go.  The instructor is excellent but of course it all still feels unfamiliar so I'm just 'aping' rather than doing.  I'm planning to do two or three more of these introductory classes and then will try a Flow class. This studio offers a half price drop in rate for their weekday morning classes, so I want to stick with the options offered in that time slot for now. It's my preferred time anyway - one I think I could commit to regularly if things work out.

My girl Violet is ready to ride but the weather has been a little too cool this week. So far, the forecast is for 17C this Sunday, so fingers crossed I can get out then!! Riding gives me so much joy so needless to say I can hardly wait :-).  Oh. And my tight fitting European leathers still fit. How cool is that???  Maintenance rocks!!

I really enjoy Yoga Flow...I wish there was a class here that fit my schedule...I usually do Yoga in the summer.

Diane O. - contributing a protein dish is a good strategy. The small deviance you experienced when you got home is just that - a small deviance. If you can figure out the 'why', great. But if you can't, it probably doesn't matter. We will never be perfect. Lord knows I've given it my best shot but to no avail. You have a clean slate today. Onward!

EDIT - oh crap - mixed up your post with Carbon's. Forgive me!

Salutations Skinny Sojourners

Well crap, up a pound for no known reason.  I ate properly yesterday.  Must be something to do with the newly discovered gravitational waves.

And in a couple of hours I am setting off on an arduous trip to the midwest to deal with ailing mom and cranky roommate. No telling what adventures will occur. At least there are not any snow storms predicted. Have a  couple of hours in both San Francisco and Denver and unfortunately I know where all the good stuff to eat is.   NOT Cinnabon, rather good soup and a hummus plate.

Well if anyone learns how to make a good homemade protein bar, let me know. I like power crunch and a couple of the quest bars but they always taste like they are a million years old and are hard to find in our area.

Well wish me luck on this trip. Checking in at an airline is about like checking into a mental institution. You give up all sharp objects and don't know what they will do to you or when they will let you out.     diane s
