Happy Friday Skinny Friends!

Scale at 120.8 today - a new low! Most likely not a true weight after all my prep and procedures the last few days so I expect it to go up again soon.

I had been hankering for a Dairy Queen Fish sandwich and a blizzard, so since I had been so low in calories the past 1 1/2 days, I splurged last night. The first several bites of both tasted so good, then they were just ehhhhh. I didn't eat all of the bun from the sandwich (too full) and I had to bring the small blizzard home to eat later as I was just too full. Truthfully, I felt pretty sick after eating that crap. I think my poor body was saying what the heck are you putting in me? No desire for more of the same any time soon and if there is a next time it will be either the sandwich or the blizzard, not both! Macros as you might guess were awful for yesterday, calories just a smidge under surprisingly.

EGD was normal which is good since last time I had some metaplasia (cell changes, but not quite Barrett's yet). For the colonoscopy, I had 3 polyps removed and he said that there were a few really small ones left that he didn't get. That will earn me another colonoscopy in 3-5 years depending on what the pathology report says.

Solo and Ensemble competition for the two older boys this weekend. We have to be in the neighboring town at 7:30 am tomorrow - no sleeping in for the weekend!

Have a great weekend everyone!

TGIF Determined and Deliberate Skinny Friends !

Paula... glad you have that procedure behind you !  Isn't it wonderful how our bodies now crave healthy food, and give us that feedback when we expand our choices?  It is great that you were present and tuned in.  It's just all part of the data collection we'll rely on when future hankerings occur.

In the past week, several of you (sorry... don't remember who) have mentioned a mid-afternoon coffee providing the push to transitioning home and completing dinner preparations with lessened head hunger.  I have been finding myself really dipping in energy around 2 PM, and experiencing significant head hunger for sweets.  Yesterday, when that happened, I brewed a cup of coffee and used a splash of a protein drink as creamer. Holy Hannah !  Amazing !!   Did the trick !!!    Thank you, thank you !!!!

134's still !  My body really seems to like it here. I am running between 1300 - 1400 calories a day,  ~30 C, 35 P, 35 F.  As my activity level increases with outdoor activities (mowing, gardening, raking), I'm anticipating that I'll start to lose slowly again.

Having a small cup right now because I was feeling hungry even though it's not time to eat. I'll splurge tonight after working out and have another small cup which will hold me until dinner. Dinner is ALWAYS late on Fridays.

Good Morning!  So happy the weekend is here.

156.7#. I'm still not logging.  As long as my numbers are dropping and I'm sticking to protein/veggies for the most part; I'm not going to log.  It's freeing.  I'm not so obsessed.  I feel in control. I'm still planning my food for the day.  I'm more aware of my hunger.  Yesterday, I was still full from lunch so I didn't have my usual scheduled snack nor did I have my evening snack.  When this stops working I will need to reevaluate.

Today, I'm working out with my trainer, getting my nails done and puttering around the house.  Tonight, we're having dinner with friends and going to Fiddler on the Roof ( community theater ).  I can choose chicken and veggies.

Tomr, we're going to my parents for my Dad's birthday.  I do plan to have a small piece of cake.  He wants to go to Olive Garden.  I've heard you can sub noodles for zoodles.  I'll stick with salad, protein and zoodles :)  Oh! And, we're still car shopping!!!

Paula-happy your procedures are done!

Diane-I love my afternoon coffee!

Have a great weekend everyone  protecting your skinny.  Commitment and Compliance.

TGIF!!!!    I swear Monday was just 12 hours ago....time flies!

122.4 today, no wrap.  This is what I would call a dry weight and pretty much at the bottom of my range.  I'm going to try to live in this area for a while and see how it feels.

You know what helps commitment and compliance?  Skinny pants!

Interesting about Olive Garden having zoodles available.  That's a huge step forward for restaurant offerings.

Lesa, I liked reading about how not logging is affecting you.  As a maintenance newbie who is prone to calorie amnesia, I need the training wheels provided by logging.  But, I love watching you folks farther out get in tune with your bodies and adjust accordingly.

Enjoy the day!

Shel

I needed a lot of MFP training in my first year or so of maintenance. Didn't try going without it until my new/revised regime was very firmly established and resulted in a consistent weight. As you know, I log when I'm trying to lose weight but other than that I can freewheel this far out. However, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't weigh or measure something, and mfp is still a source of info about anything out of the ordinary.

Just scanned the post but whaaaaa zoodles?  Life made!

159.8 today.  It has become apparent to me that I no longer maintain at 152-154.  I no longer maintain at 156-158.  I am about 160.  It's not just a water fluctuation.  That's where I am and if I don't want to be there, I need to lose weight.  Which is different from maintaining.  Urgghh

Busy week.  Just dropped my parents off at the airport for a little late 30th anniversary trip to Italy.

186.  My UP24 band broke.  I broke it by accident, heard it snap and knew it was bad.  So sad, no credit for my steps.  I am still logging my food etc. but I am flying without a net here.  Payday I will splurge on an UP3.

I want to be in the 170s and I am the only one who can do anything about that so it is time for me to buckle down.

What am I doing that I should not be doing?  Sitting so much.  Gotta walk more even without credit.

What am I not doing that I should be doing?  Drinking more water.  Water has never been a problem for me until recently.  I got back into my routine this morning and am ahead of schedule for a change.

What can I do better?  Better choices after work.  Dinner and evening are my most difficult times.  If there is a slip, that's usually when it happens.  About to pat myself on the back for planning for tonight's dinner and realized I FORGOT to set the crockpot.  Luckily my son is home and can handle pushing the button for me.

Thank you guys, if I hadn't posted here, I would not have remembered!

My scale tipped up to 114. Not sure why that is, but I always trust my scale to give me the real number, even if I don't fully comprehend what's going on in my body.

I made yogurt last night!  Texture is beautifully thick and creamy after straining, maybe a bit more tangy than I prefer after 8 hours in IP so will try using less starter and/or less time. I used a gallon of whole milk so unless I'm missing something I could only strain half overnight, doing the other half today.  Question about starter - are peeps taking some from their homemade batch or buying/freezing commercial yogurt?

Rob is still home with very sore foot today so is going to use IP slow cooker function to make corned beef brisket.  This gadget will definitely replace our steamer, rice cooker, slow cooker, etc. but the pressure cooking thing will be more challenging because I've never used one.

So excited about the yogurt.  I have found much more enjoyment with DIY yogurt than I would have thought possible.

My straining container is full with just 1/2 gallon so I am not surprised that your gallon needed to be split.

Whenever I buy my milk to make yogurt, I buy a small container of fage 0% to use as my starter.  I just put about 1.5 tsp per container (I use multiple small glass containers instead of the whole pot but again I am only doing 1/2 gallon.)

My recipe/inspiration came from http://www.hippressurecooking.com/video-how-to-make-yogurt-i n-instant-pot-duo/

It's a video/you tube.  Might be a bit interesting to listen to if you have a few minutes.

I have seen lots of corned beef brisket pressure cooker recipes on the internet, you will do fine!
