Hump Day 03/02/16
Happy Wednesday,
Sustainability is taking on a deeper meaning for me. I have joined a farm to market endeavor called Field Goods. Each week, I receive a bag of fresh, organic, seasonal vegetables and fruits. Deliveries are made to central locations... mine happens to be an organic fish market that specializes in sustainable fishing practices. I had never been in the fish market before, and really hadn't thought enough about the difference in nutritional value between pieces of salmon, for instance. I'm learning a lot, and trying new things. Last week's discoveries were watermelon radishes and Artic char. Tonight, I pick up my second bag, which will include beets (yummy), and I'm picking up a "take and bake" swordfish with a pinenut/pesto garnish.
I am thinking more about sustainable habits, too. My acronym for "diet" (noun)has been revised to:
Deliberate
Informed
Evolving
Template
I am confident that I can sustain this diet. Nothing is restricted. Pre-planning food for the day is working for me, but I can make an informed choice about what to eat, based on evolving feedback from my body. Unplanned/impulse eating is still a slippery slope for me.
134's today. I seem to be settling into a 133-134 niche. My body and I love it here !
Have a great day !!

123.6, down almost 3 lbs. - not sure where that came from. We talk all the time about underserved gains, this is an undeserved loss. I was low on fluids yesterday so I am sure some of it is dehydration. I actually intentionally increased calories yesterday and allowed in some "treats". I have a colonoscopy and EGD to tomorrow so today will be "prep" day. Nothing but clear liquids and colon cleansers of various sorts and (lots of pooping) and tomorrow nothing until the test which is after 1:00 pm, so essentially very few calories for 1 1/2 days.
I did 45 minutes of step aerobics yesterday. I will exercise today if I'm not feeling too weak from non eating - we will see how that goes. I'm only going to work a 1/2 day so I can start the prep at the designated time.

I find committing to a plan and practicing it when I'm feeling strong, gets me through when I'm not !!

Good morning all,
Wow, nice loss Paula!
Well I have a deserved gain today of 2.3 lbs. 151.2.
Food was good yesterday,
912 calories
79 grms protein
78 grms carbs
High on the carb side - they were fruit and veggie carbs so I am feeling ok about them, however, may need them lower. I have been feeling tired and wondering if it is working out with so few carbs (usually under 40 grms). I am not tired at the time of working out but it seems to be cumulative after a few days I am exhausted.
Have a great day everyone Hugs! Lorna
Good morning! A rainy, bleak day here in central Maine!
Scale was down 2.7 or 2.9 lbs. - I can't remember if yesterday's weight ended in .7 or .9. Yesterday was a good day, and my carbs were even lower than usual. Fluids were way up too.
Diane, I am dipping into the waters of more organic and natural foods. The budget is tight, so I can't go all organic, but have started to add organic foods whenever I can. When we were in Florida, my youngest's grandparents exclusively buy organic and natural products, mostly from local farms and other vendors. The food was delish!
Paula, good luck with your colonoscopy! The prep work is the worst part, so hope it goes smoothly. Pun not intended ! :)
Dance last night was so much fun! We added a new sequence of steps to our routine. The amazing thing was that I got it down by the end of the class. It usually takes me much more time for extended sequences, which this was. My timing for the whole dance is getting better, so I'm pretty much in step with the rest of the class! 11 more weeks before recital, so I still have time to get it all right.
Have a great day everyone!
Hugs, Mary
Good morning friends. I'm still hanging out at 113, and my food choices have been pretty good overall. I do best when I avoid evening eating because that's when I make poor choices. Interestingly, I still have a tendency to want to go low for cals during the day, somehow feeling less anxiety when I 'save' cals in case I'm hungry later. This practice has not been necessary or helpful so I'm trying to pack a few more calories into each meal.
I slipped and fell on some ice yesterday and tore up the soft tissue through my left side and underside of my arm. Shoulder is sore too. Spasms all night so not a good sleep, so decided to cancel a planned lunch and stay home today.

Thanks will look for the spray. Hopefully it's available in Canada.
