Lamb or Lion ?
134's ! Grateful !
So, in honor of the first day of March, would you associate yourself more with a lion or a lamb ?
I'd have to say, being a Leo, I have always aligned myself with lions. Since getting healthy, that association has become stronger. The positive traits of a lioness will serve me well: protein forward, stealthy, patient, cunning, and fiercely protective of my sleeve !
Have a great day all !

Yes, I'm with you, Ocean4dim! A lion for sure... attacking every pound and throwing out every bite of fat in this old body! LOL I am so excited about it being MARCH finally!! So ready for spring! Well the scales is still saying 140.6 but that is ok. This is the first day of the month and I want to get ten pounds off and hoping with my goal in mind to lose 5 lbs this month and 5 in April. My birthday is April 20th.... I think that would be a great gift to ME! :)
I eat a lot of greek yogurt and thinking about getting a "stormbound dash" greek yogurt maker. ?? Anyone out there have one? Do you like it?
Have a blessed day!! God is Good!
Karen, I haven't used that yogurt maker, but I have been told for years that yogurt is easy to make and I think just about anything that says it can make yogurt probably would do a good job. I'm using the InstantPot but that is overkill if all you need is the yogurt making function.
If I was going to buy a yogurt only gadget I would look to make sure that it is going to be able to handle the volume of milk that I want to process at a time. For me, that is a 1/2 gallon.
I have enjoyed my homemade yogurt TREMENDOUSLY. I don't think you will regret moving forward!

I researched yogurt makers. Being a bit of a foodie, I am very partial to Cook's Illustrated, Cook's Country, etc... and think they do a great job reviewing gadgets and machines. They highly recommended the Cuisinart yogurt maker. It costs close to 100 bucks! So to me the Instant Pot is a much better bargain, and not overkill at all when you think about how exquisitely it makes yogurt, plus pressure cooks, plus slow, cooks, rice makes, etc.... Just my opinion.
126.2. Good eating day yesterday and got about 35 minutes of walking in. We are getting sideways blowing snow right now - yuck. I am so ready for Spring!
Day off today. No real plans except for some kind of exercise and a little grocery shopping.
I can't stop thinking of buying boobs (thanks, Shel!) Lol!
Happy Tuesday all!
Good morning all,
Well two days of crappy eating. I believe I am stress eating - lots going on. I will today take it one minute at a time and get through the day. Couldn't get to the gym yesterday and I have meetings again all day long so the gym may not be in the cards today as well. I am planning on going after work as long as I am not to late getting home.
Have a great day everyone!
Hugs Lorna
Good morning!
Check out Kairk's latest contribution to PetPallooza! It is worthy of a magazine. Also, it makes me feel good to scroll thru the earlier pics!
I am quite literally a lion --- it is my last name, albeit a different spelling! I always say that this time I am doing maintenance differently. After past weight loss, I would never lose hope, like a lamb hidden in the grass, but could feel danger all around. I knew in my core that a predator shaped like pad thai was going to get me.
This time, I strive to meet the challenges out in the open, head on. So, I'm with you Diane O, lets be in the lion pack. (See, when I say this it makes me think of my MIL but I'm trying to let that go.)
124.8 today with the arm wrap. I have been trying to eat "less" so that my usual dry weight is 122-124ish. I think I am getting there but want to solidify it this month.
I also enjoyed the comments about artificial boobs yesterday! Thanks so much for the smiles.
Lorna, hugs to you today. Some days are harder than others.
Protect the skinny,
Shel

Good morning. And happy Super Tuesday for those of you in states that vote today (like me). I've felt more fed-up and apathetic than ever this year. But, I figure someone is going to win, so I might as well have a say in who that is!!
160.2. Up 0.2. At first I was disappointed, and then I asked myself: do you feel good about yesterday? And I thought why yes, yes I do. I chose the healthy lunch choice, I made a healthy dinner, and while some unhealthy choices found their way in (wine and a samoa cookie), they did not crash my diet. AND I walked the dogs for 30 min. So I'm going to stick with my own judgment of yesterday and not the scale's.
Spring has definitely sprung here. I cannot believe we did not have a single snow here this winter. About as exciting as it got was an ice storm after Thanksgiving. But the trees are starting to bloom and allergies are high, and we had a thunderstorm last night so this must be it.
I've done some thinking about what changes I am willing to make for life. And I will continue to think it through. I think I've implemented a lot of those changes already, which makes taking away my few favorites left really hard. I don't drink that often, but I think I should go back to my Thursday-Sunday rule. Trouble is my husband doesn't drink wine, so if I open a bottle I feel compelled to fini**** 5-6 glasses. I used to drink about a glass of wine each weeknight and 2 each weekend night, but that's overdoing it. And perhaps limit wine or ****tail to just a dinner date out. I like my wine, but I like my figure better.
I also need to limit the candy. I know, duh. Early on after WLS I felt sort of invincible. I had been on a diet my ENTIRE life. And candy was the biggest no-no of all. But after WLS I found I could eat candy and still lose weight. I don't understand why a snack size piece or two of candy didn't both my stomach like a brownie or a piece of cake, but it doesn't. The holidays really reignited my desire for sugar/candy. Some things don't bother me, and some things do. Little cute Reese's peanut butter eggs: far too addictive for me. Dove dark chocolate squares: fine. My biggest struggle of all is probably the mid-afternoon need for carbs. I want something easy, familiar, soothing to tell me it's okay, work will be over soon. Perhaps a nice cup of herbal tea?
I'm okay with adding exercise is the form of walking more for life. But I can tell you right now I have no intentiion of being a gym rat for life. That being said, this could be an important component to my weight loss strategy, should I decide to lose more weight.
And, drumroll....PORTIONS. I find myself eating until I feel FULL now. Not satisfied, but FULL. When I catch myself doing it I'm like hey, you're not hungry--why are you doing this?! So I need to go back to monitoring portions more, and not being so afraid of hunger. It's okay.
Hi Brown! My afternoon treat is usually a large cup of decaf coffee with 2 splenda and about an inch of mint hot chocolate from Dunkin' Donuts. It is especially helpful when I find myself having cravings. The best time for me to get the coffee is right after work, so I'm still drinking it, or have just finished it while I'm making dinner - a particlarly vulnerable time for me.
