You must be reading posts from way back today. You "liked" a post I wrote on 12/29 and I needed to read it today. Funny how that works. So I want to give you a shout out and say thanks for reading way back today. Reading that old post gave me some perspective on what's going on with me today.
I'm tired. I have not had enough sleep. I am seeking quick energy. Even with my strong resolve today, I caved in the teacher's lunchroom because our coach treated the staff to a popcorn bar today. Carmel popcorn, Carmel and Nut cluster Popcorn, Cheddar Popcorn, Dark Chocolate drizzle popcorn, Kettle Corn, something called Chicago mix (cheddar and carmel corn mixed together), and finally butter and sea salt popcorn. On top of it, she made a plate of her chocolate chip cookies (thank goodness it wasn't her beloved chocolate and toffee chip cookies, or I would have completely lost it I think). I had a couple of handfuls of popcorn (chocolate drizzle and caramel and nut, of course) and I chose to have a cookie at the very end as I was leaving the room. I entered my transgressions on my log, saw the calorie level, winced and that was that.
Once home the sugar drop took effect. I had 1/2 cup greek yogurt, 1 tsp chopped pecans and 2 strawberries. I'm seemingly okay now. Off to the gym. Reading that old post helped center my thoughts and thinking.
So, blessings upon you, Teacher, for handing me a teachable moment at the exact moment it was needed!
