I'm a tracking! :)
I'm at 140.6 today. :) Several days ago, I posted for "help". I had gained 4 lbs in the last couple of months. I have been working on getting those pounds off. I had not been keeping up with my calories. I was just measuring and weighing my food. I had no idea on the calorie intake. So, I started back on the tracking my calories this week. I have lost my 4 lbs! I've lost 2 lbs in the last 3 weeks and 2 this week! :) The tracking "really" helped me to see what I was really taking in. It also made me accountable on what I was eating. My goal "was" 140 but I think I will go lower to give me some wiggle room. I would love to see 130 and not go over 134. I am 5'4'' and I am 59 in another month. Do y'all think this is reasonable? When I mention this to people,,, I get the reply,, "oh you don't need to lose anymore!" or " I wouldn't lose anymore". I remember 30 years ago weighing 126 and it felt great! So, I thought maybe 130 would be a good lower red line for me. What do y'all think? I really enjoy reading all the posts and they are all so helpful! Thank you!! :)
Thanks, Paula! There are small voices telling me, "you don't deserve to weigh 130" or "you're older now,, 130 is for younger folks" or "if you lose anymore, your wrinkles will REALLY show up on your face". I have been overweight for the last 30 years and wondering if it is possible to get to 130? My surgeon set my goal at 143,,,, don't know why? I still have some fat on my body I would love to see off. So again, thanks for the encouraging words, Paula!!
Ha! Funny you should write this. As I was reading your original post, my thought was, "If she liked 126, why not shoot for that?" You see, like it or not, we should technically weigh a little less as we age due to natural muscle atrophy (especially for women post menopause). So a weight of 130 (even 126) sounds ideal to me.
I really believe that you should shoot for your dream, rather than settle for what you think you CAN do. Try on 130 for size. If you think you'd like to try out 126, float on down to that. Don't ru**** Just float down. If you find you don't like 126, float back on up to your 130-134 range. What so many of us don't really understand is how much control we really have over our weight.
wow, you are off to a fabulous start! Tracking is magical! :)
I think wiggle room is always good. But, it is also good to keep in mind that you can try out different weights and see where you feel the best! Since we are similar heights, I know all of those weights are in the healthy range for you. So, now you will discover where you prefer to be. I'm still figuring that sort of thing out, too!
Congratulations!

Awesome Karen! Full court press to whatever number feels best! I'm 59 and even though I wasn't overweight in high school, I weigh 15 pounds less now. Why? Because I'm determined to 'protect my skinny' with the lowest weight I can healthily maintain.

Thanks Spencerella.... Linda...
You have given me hope and determination to keeping on floating down that stream! :) I am so glad I found this group..... so helpful and encouraging! :) I hope to do as well as you all on here. I'm tracking my food now,,,, still don't have my exercise in like I want. Working on that in days ahead. This week's focus was on tracking and getting all my water in. Thanks again for the kind words! :)
