125.2 today. Sorry for the lack of personal responses to your posts yesterday, I had my first day back to work and then scouts last night. The day did me in and then it just got worse.

I'm going on about 3 hours of sleep. Looks like I will be taking my oldest son (will be 18 in May) in to be admitted to our adolescent behavioral health unit. He suffers from bipolar (most likely) and has been on a down swing for the last month. He was admitted 2 years ago for suicidal ideation. He states he doesn't feel like he will harm himself right now but feels he can't control his emotions and may harm others. I'll be making a call to the unit fairly soon. He asked that I let him sleep in a bit (at least someone is sleeping) so I told him I would wake him at 9:00.

I never really considered myself a stress eater but damned if didn't crave carbs after the talk with him last night and then with my husband to let him know what was going on. I didn't cave and have anything to eat but the pull was sure there to use food for comfort. I'll have to be very mindful of that going forward this week as it is bound to be a stressful one!

Prayers appreciated!

Paula-

Positive thoughts and energy being sent to you and your family.  It is a huge step that your son is open with you and is part of developing his treatment plan. How important it is that this is being addressed before he is off on his own.

Be gentle with yourself.  Take time to do what you need to do to stay centered and grounded.  Your maintenance family is here for you !!!

Good Morning All-

132 even today.  Still reflecting on Devon's "diet post".  Today is the first day I have a "planned sidestep".  We have a two hour dinner workshop before tonight's Board of Education meeting.  I got the catering menu and was able to determine calzones and tossed salad are being offered. I have not had bread in over a year.  My first reaction was to totally bring something else and not even try to make it work. I am fairly stabilized 2-3 pounds below my bottom red line. My rigid tendencies are not sustainable long term.  My new plan is to use protein from the inside of my calzone on salad.  I brought extra protein in case there isn't quality protein inside the calzone.  I'd truly rather have a few bites of salad instead of a bite or two of the calzone bread.  I have to explore why I categorize this as a "sidestep".  I just have to get more comfortable navigating the expanded boundaries of my playground.  Determined, evolving, invested, tenacious !

Definitely great to have a plan!  For me, winging it can be quite risky.  Let us know how things go for you!

Paula

I will certainly keep you and your family in my prayers. God give you strength and guidance through this time of challenge. You must be so proud of your son for coming to you and telling you how he feels, you certainly have a strong bond with each other. That is so precious, that he can trust you like that. You are a good parent for sure. Hugs! Please be kind to yourself, everything for a season, for a reason. God Bless and keep you!

Diane - sounds like you have a good plan in place. For me I can't do bread it hurts my stomach - like a brick sitting in there. Yet I can do crackers. Not sure if it is a head thing or not, but I'll take it, bread used to be one of my problem foods - not any more. :-)

Well the scaled moved back down but not all the way 149.5 -1.9 lbs. Still have .7 to go to be back to where I was before this blip. TMI - no BM yet so hopefully that will fix the gain and maybe even get a bit of a loss to under 148.8.

No gym today, my body is saying I need a day off. Three days in a row and then one off. I am working long hours as well so that I can have every second Friday off. Which means I put in an 1 1/2 a day extra for 9 days. It makes it long but last Friday was my first one off and it felt like a guilty pleasure, (as good as chocolate - even better) LOL.

Have a fabulous day all!  Hugs Lorna

It is good to listen to your body and take that rest day when it needs it!
