Isn't it wonderful when you realize that narrative doesn't apply? Weird at first for sure, but soon you'll be planning maintenance related things in place of those. Sometimes I still can't believe I've weighed the same three Christmases in a row. It's truly wonderful, so Maintenance Noobs, please do protect your skinny!!

I'm kinda in the same position.  Today I hit the exact same weight I was a year ago.  And I'm about 5lbs. up from my low maintenance.  At first I was very uncomfortable with maintenance.  Now I'm finding it very challenging, and worst of all I wish I was maintaining at a lower weight.  So maybe I'm not in maintenance at all!

Hi Everyone!  It's so good to be here again.  I've missed you all!  We got back, last night, from our vacation to Florida.  We had a ball!  Food was so-so during the trip.  I had weighed myself prior and wasn't happy with the results.   Coupled with looking at pics taken during the trip, I found myself starting to slip into the "I hate myself, I'm so fat and ugly, blah, blah, blah..." desperate place.  Instead, I was able to pull myself out of there and started eating a bit more cleanly for most of the rest of the trip.  We walked lots too, which was good for me.  Today is the last day before returning to work.  One of my objectives for today is to plan healthy meals and go grocery shopping.  I feel more than ready to get back on course after meandering off for too long.

Have a great Wednesday~

Hugs, Mary

Welcome back!  Maybe pull out your dancing jazz hands when you slip into that negative thinking.  I think it might be impossible to have negative thoughts while rocking the jazz hands.  (I'm remembering you as the member who is in a jazz class --- I might be wrong on that point!)

Hey be nice to yourself, my friend! I saw a picture of you during your FLA trip and you looked happy, healthy, and relaxed. That is something to celebrate. Remember, weight fluctuates throughout our lives. Some of us have wider fluxes than others do, but that's just the way it is. You have a wonderfully supportive family. Enlist their support. Share with them your fears. Tell your older daughter your truth. Watch how they all rally to support you. Oh, and as for meandering for too long - NOPE! You have been walking slowly down a path doing what you know how to do while searching for a new path to take. No meandering there. Take it from me, this sh$t takes time. You are on your way.

Hi all!

Back down to b'day weight of 199.3. Had a good food day yesterday, though a little carbier that usual these days. Luckily, each and every carb that went down the hatch was a conscious choice. Most of my carbs came from the usual dairy, veggies, and 1/4 cup of blueberries. However, for dinner I heated up the left over mac and cheese Ron brought home from my b'day dinner and I had a 1/4 cup portion. He had the rest - about 1/2 cup. I also had a mini Perfect Bar, which has a few more unnecessary carbs. So, if I got rid of those two things, I would have been under 40 grams.

Feeling good about how things are going. I am remembering today that weight loss is not a race and it is not the end all. Weight loss is only a short blip on the map. My aim is really maintaining that healthy weight I'm aiming for.

Shel's mention of having weight loss goals running through her head reminded me that I also have a time frame weight loss goal rolling around in the back room of my brain. Not sure if that's a good thing or maybe not so good. I'll put it out there for you. I want to be

Personally, I find weight loss goals and time frames very helpful!

I feel like this happens more to some people than others, me being one of them!

Hello all!  We've moved onto the second location about three hours out of the city, returning to city tomorrow for location number three. Had a tricky food day yesterday with a lot of sweets exposed. I ate more than I had planned and have not eaten any today, at least not yet!  Unfortunately I'm craving carbs today :-(

Nevertheless, I'm having a great holiday and am not guilting myself out about it. Glad to see you all here!
