Good Morning !

133.8. I had a ton of water in that leg ! Remember how I wrestled with continuing to push down to my original bottom red line of 135 ?  I have to work on discriminating between my "disordered rationalizer" and my inner voice. As I work on finding neutral, my intuition will strengthen.

Lots of great insights yesterday ! You are all such a significant force in defining and living maintenance !! I believe in self-actualization and love "The Secret", and the reminder about setting intentions/expressing gratitude upon waking and sleeping was a good one. Being kind to ourselves as we protect our skinny is also essential. Devon's comment about "dancing around the house" got me thinking. I didn't have a good relationship with my body, especially as a child. I don't have a lot of experience moving with reckless abandon or simply celebrating the joy of moving my body. Have to do more of that as part of healing !

Have a great day !

I woke up today thinking about "protecting my skinny" - those exact words rolling around my head! That must be what I am to focus on today.

124.2, above the lower red line. Don't need to try to gain anything at this point. 125 is my happy number, just a bit below my goal of 128-130 and a nice multiple of 5. I'm right where I should be! I have 1/2 pint of the ice cream I bought left. I actually claimed 2 of the 12 pints I purchased for myself. Think I will let the boys eat the remaining 1/2 pint. I feel satisfied with what I had!

Still having pain with minimal activity (going to church, out to eat, brief stop at the store). I'm just using Tylenol at this point, don't like the idea of possibly getting addicted to the narcotics. I do have a follow-up with the surgeon today. I'm sure my recovery is normal, just seems prolonged to me. Happy to have another week off work. There is no way I could work a 8 hour shift at this point!

Hello friends!  The days are going by in a whirlwind on this trip and we're having a wonderful time visiting with family and seeing the sights. The landscape is spectacular, especially with the snow on it.

My food choices have been good, but definitely consuming more wine than is the norm :-). Glad to hear that you're all doing a spectacular job of protecting your skinny!

I like that "protecting your skinny"

Scale is 158 today.  I'm beginning to think it's just playing games with me at this point!  I know I didn't "deserve" the 164.2 I weighed in at last Monday, owing it mostly to a weekend of alcohol and sodium and plane travel.  But I also don't think I lost 6lbs. this week.  So I expect a bump up in the scale at some point, and instead of that triggering me to feel like "this isn't working--WAHHH!!!" I'm going to remember that it has been working and fluctuation is all part of the game.

Today's eats

B-1/2 maple french toast english muffin, scrambled egg, coffee with cream

S-greek yogurt

L-5 chicken meatballs and frozen italian veggies

S-chicken with mango habanero sauce and baby carrots

D-Roast chicken, sweet potato, and spinach salad

I might even exercise today!!

Good morning, friends!

125.9 today, trending the direction I like.

I had my first dessert in well over a year last night:  2.5 oz (yes, weighed!) New York Cheesecake.  (We had dessert at home, I am not so much of a weighing-warrior to take a scale to a restaurant.)   Also had some creamed spinach and a few braised mushrooms.  My macros for the day were aok.

The bigger volume/feeling full at dinner triggered a desire to graze for the rest of the night. This was before the cheesecake so can't blame it on that.   Maybe a biological response to encouraging me to eat while food is available because my Neanderthal DNA doesn't know when the next meal will come?  Just another reason to make it a practice to under eat my sleeve.

Diane O, I'm doing a dance for you!  I was never comfortable in my own skin unless it was running/biking for distance.  Now I find that yoga is breaking down many physical, mental and emotional barriers to simply enjoy movement that isn't necessarily gasping for breath and sweating.  What is your intention to move towards being able to move with reckless abandon?  I'm picturing synchronized swimming with a sporty swim cap.  (Homework!  But, no due date!)

Paula, glad you are taking it easy.

Thanks, all, for reminding me of the importance of gratitude!

Off and running,

Shel

Diane Ocean I had a feeling that weight drop was coming!  As you've said, in time you'll learn a lot more about how your body works and what the scale numbers mean.

Clearly it was the 2.5 oz cheesecake ;)

Whoops, I at first thought this post was directed at a my slightly lower number.
