VSG Maintenance Group
Saturday, February 13th
Since I'm so close to my goal I figure I should start posting once in a while. I didn't weigh my self today, because I drank some water as soon as I got up and didn't want to see the result. Yesterday I weighed 153.6, 3.6 pounds from my doctor's goal, but 8.6 from my original goal. I'm rethinking it, so may try to get down to 135 so I have some cushion for bounce back if I need it.
I'm really enjoying the post in this forum, because I really feel like I'm getting to "know" all of you better than on the other forums. Thank you for letting me join you in the maintenance board, and I hope to do myself and you proud.

126.4 today. Stable is good. Busy with errands today and currently in a coffee shop NOT having a meal but enjoying excellent coffee. It is caffeinated, tho, which I have been cutting back on so no more for me today!
So glad to see so many on the upswing! A shout out in particular to Diane O and her brilliant daughter. Obviously excellent genetics and nurturing home environment!
I checked out the Valentines menu for the restaurant my husband picked out. Like BB, it is a steakhouse so no worries. So much more relaxing to go out to eat now than pre vsg for a variety of reasons.
Appreciate all of you!
Shel

I agree re going out now vs. pre-surgery. Since I've been battling regain recently, I started forgetting how gosh-darned impossible and futile dieting was before. Going out to eat dinner was STRESSFUL. Unless I was perfect, I was going to blow my diet. Now it's still hard. But it's a heck of a lot easier to eat half and enjoy when you have a smaller stomach.
Greetings
Wow what a busy vibrant group we have become! So fun.
Diane O you must be so proud of your daughter. I wrote about that discovery thinking we could somehow blame our weight issues on it. Maybe your daughter could research that! (ok, probably not). But its a cool discovery and hope your daughter basks in her brilliance.
Yikes Paula, visit to the ER!! take care my friend.
The word for the day is GRAPES. I got a big package of green grapes at costco to take to the art opening. I used to eat grapes all the time during weight loss and maintenance phase as a small side to my tuna or jerky. Haven't eaten them much lately and I had forgotten how good they are. These were especially sweet and like little bites of candy with hardly any calories. Everybody else ate them too. So eat your grapes all. That and a couple of cheese sticks make a great lunch.
Time to excavate the refrigerator today. It gets full of old uneaten veggies and stuff. Wish someone would invent an app that tells you "Its time to throw out that unfinished tub of cottage cheese that you bought two months ago". I do find I no longer feel guilty throwing out stuff that didn't get eaten. C'est la vie.
Happy Valentines day. You are all my valentines. diane s
