Celebrate! We have made it to the weekend, and hopefully many stateside have Monday off for President's Day.
I have to start with a major positive in my life. Diane S. made reference to the discovery of gravitational waves. My 28 year old daughter is a LIGO researcher at Caltech, and is part of the team who made this "discovery of the century". While her name will not be on the Nobel prize, she is "on the paper", and has a fabulous career as a physicist ahead of her !
I am 138.4 today. I was able to stay on plan yesterday. I am taking care of myself, and I am dealing with the feelings.
Devon... CONGRATULATIONS! You earned it and you did it. I can't wait for the article you are writing together, sharing insights about learning from and successfully addressing regain.
Lorna..hope you are successfully working through the cramps. Paula... sounds like the pain is better managed, and glad you are moving forward. Shel. good plan to address the evening snack that was not needed but becoming a habit. Carbon.. hope you get a break in the rain so you can enjoy being outside. Linda..great job solidifying 112 before your trip. Have fun ! Stephanie..sounds like you are traveling too, employing solid strategies. BB... you have the scale moving in the right direction. I, too, did WW at 9 years old. Diane..great snack choices for the opening! That has got to be so tough!
Have a renewing day, my friends !

121.4 today, same as yesterday. Belly pain is improving, only needed to take pain meds once yesterday! I do have some muscle soreness in my right calf and am mildly concerned about a DVT since I have done nothing physically to cause calf soreness. Will keep a close eye on it and if it worsens will call my surgeon's office right away! Will try to get a little more walking around the house in today!
Paula
Diane-That's so awesome about your daughter!
Paula-sorry you've experienced so much pain. Having my galbladder out was such a relief.
Woke up in a coughing fit this morning. May have pushed it a bit yesterday. My dr. did say flu hangs on 5-7 days so we're just getting to the end. But the show was really funny and crude and my husband loved it. We had burgers before the show. I feel like I'm getting back to my old restricted appetite (yay!) which is such a relief to just eat and be full. I had half a hamburger and a couple sips of a beer and I was overly full. I also haven't been terribly interested in food the last couple days, which I suspect has more to do with being sick than anything else. So the scale was 160.4 today, down 0.2. I'll take it.
Today, my husband and I are going out for our Valentine's dinner to a steakhouse. I plan on enjoying myself (but it's easier at a steakhouse with all that good protein) and then indulging in the shari's berries he got me. Other than that, rest, rest, rest!

Morning all.So pleased for your daughter!!! Please give her our congratulations. And Kairk!!!!!!! Well done YOU!!!!!
hope that everyone else is on the mend and resting. !!!!!! Hint, hint. Keep a watch on that leg please!
calories 871 walking 12555.
busy today with family and a funeral. She was 52 diagnosed
with cancer in Sept and died end of Dec. A lovely lady.
Happy Sat!!
Paula - I hope your stomach settles for you. Gallbladder for me was a difficult surgery and i was only 18 at the time. I still had to watch my foods for months and months after things that would trigger an attack pre surgery still triggered it post surgery.
Well the scale moved today -2.6 lbs (150.5) I think yesterday was just a blip move up and now it is back settling down. .5lb to go to preholiday weight and then off to get the last three off.
Out for lunch today and then grocery shopping, getting the goods to make Spaghetti Squash Lasagna with Spinach; I make a bunch of dishes of it and freeze them; it is so handy to have for supper and so tasty.
Diane O - how proud you must be! I watched a TV article on David Rose late last night about the Gravitational Waves. Fascinating, even if some of that science stuff is over my head. Mr. Rose had on some buggy eyed scientist that was absolutely giddy about the whole thing. Ron and I found him to be somewhat off - mad scientist and all! The technology they used to discover the waves was really cool though. The whole laser and mirror configuration being able to measure a fraction of a proton width is beyond comprehension when you really think about it, but at least I understood that part of it. (Glad you are feeling "up" today, too, after such an emotionally grueling week!)
199.2 this morning. That makes me feel a little more firmly planted in "one-derland". Excellent workout yesterday and food was really on point. 119 grams protein, 35 carbs,
fewer than 1,100 calories.
While I was a bit worried about my celebratory feelings rising up from the depths, I'm happy to report that instead I seem to be having a resurgence of commitment to continued wight loss. I've been thinking through next goals. Here they are:
Mini goal #1: 195 lbs; Mini Goal #2: 190; Goal #1: 188.
Ultimately, I believe I should be under 180, but 188 is the weight I was in the white jean and T shirt pics on my profile. That was a comfrotable weight for me. My idea is to see how I feel at 188 and take it from there.
Enjoy your Saturday!
