Perfect Bars
Hi all,
Wanted to share a little tidbit from my nutritional session today. I mentioned to her that I had given up my daily Quest Bar due to the high carbs (yes, I know lots of fiber) and the fact that since they are highly processed I don't really feel sated after eating one. (Never have either - even during my first year post op.) She asked if I had ever tried a Perfect Bar. I said no. She told me where I could find them (Whole Foods refrigerated section). I stopped in to get some carrot salad I like and some PB and decided to check out the bars.
I found them to be absolutely over the top in calories - over 300 for some - and quite high in carbs. However, they had mini bars in peanut butter and almond butter. The stats are not horrible on the minis: 100 calories, 6 grams fat, 8 grams carbs, 5 protein. Since I had been bedeviled by the treats all day at school, I decided to buy a single mini.
LOVED IT! Totally did the trick. Very small, extremely calorie dense, but if you are a peanut butter person.... MMMM, MMMM! I found this to be just the right thing after a day of being barraged by sugary carb crap food at school. Another little piece of ammo in my artillery against the bulge!

Interesting! Love that you can buy a single mini for those bedeviled moments. I'll at least find their location in Whole Foods so I am prepared!
