So I'm posing a question to help you further clarify - is 165 alright for now if you don't gain any more weight?  I guess the point I want to make is that being 165 doesn't necessarily mean you will gain more. Yes, if you continue as you are, you may continue to gain, but I point this out because your approach can vary - maintaining at 165 may require a different approach than reducing to another weight. So do you want to maintain or reduce? I sense some ambivalence, and I think it might be helpful to make a firm choice. As Kairk says, the choice is yours to make.

I definitely want to lose about 12lbs. to be at my happy maintaining weight of 151-153.  True, I'm not looking forward to the work.  But I am not happy at this weight.  I was (and probably will be) ambivalent about 152 losing or maintaining.  I would like to be "half of myself"--138.5.  However, I was pretty happy at 151-153.  Still, bottom line is I need to lose a minimum of 11lbs. right now.

Okay, so you want to move into weight loss mode, which means you will need to reduce your calories.  Do you currently track your calories, protein and carb intake?  If not, I'd suggest you make that your initial objective.  Not only is the data essential, but getting into the habit of collecting it will give you an opportunity to reflect and mentally prepare.  And maybe that's enough right now.

Yes I have been.  I didn't this weekend just because it would be very hard to estimate, but aside from that I have been, even when I didn't want to.  Just like weighing and posting my weight on here.  In my mind the first step may be identifying the issue--so as much as I hate to, I've been trying to keep myfitnesspal and keep a record of my weight.  And boy is it a shocker.  I don't feel like I'm eating that much--but it's amazing how quickly foods add up to 1400, 1600, and sometimes even higher on the weekends!  Definitely illuminating.

So you're already gathering data. That's a great start!  Pat yourself on the back for that. You already know that your high range is 1600+ calories. Wondering what your low range is? I guess what I'm thinking is that your low range is not possible for you to sustain right now, so you might want to commit too a number somewhere in between as your daily calorie goal.  You can sort out the specifics of what you eat based on how well you are able to stick with your calorie goal.  You can lower your calorie goal later after you are able to sustain the mid range calorie level.  What you're looking for is back to back days of eating at the same level.  Some additional support might be helpful too - Overeaters Anonomous, counselling, etc.

So here's the deal: in less than a pound you will be overweight according to the BMI. If the BMI scale is the scale by which you measure and you have anxiety about being classified as overweight, then maybe knocking off a few pounds would be in your best interest. Something to consider.

I looked at your profile and your bikini pics. If those pics show you at 153 pounds, I will tell you that that I think that was a very nice weight for you. You look curvy, healthy and in good shape. If you feel better emotionally and physically at that weight, that is also something to carefully consider.

My thoughts exactly.  I'm miserable at this weight and so pretty much case closed.

Thanks!  Actually the bikini pics were at 1 year post-op when I still had about 10lbs. to lose (so I was about 165) and pre-tummy tuck.  Funny how I felt awesome about my body then, approximately the same weight as I am now, and before losing loose skin.  Sometimes important to remember where we're coming from and be a little gentler on ourselves

Good morning maintainers. Scale is 113 so again my coveted 112 doesn't seem to stick. I'm still watching my intake fair let closely so have only added back 100-200 calories for this brief pre-trip time.

The weather continues to be unseasonably warm, with a forecasted high of 10C today. Gotta love the El Niño effect!! It's certainly making this winter a little easier to bear and I'm hoping to be riding again in April. DH has my bike repairs well underway ?

Good morning all! Quick pop in from work.

126.7 today.  Yoga tonight.

Paula, hope you feel better soon!  When I had my GB out, my daughter was a baby.  I distinctly remember her kicking me in the abdomen.  Not a particularly good memory!

Good luck with everyone's eating today!

I'm making peace with my current weight. Food for today is well planned (which is where I operate best.)   I have new maintenance meals prepped and frozen in the freezer.  I'm wearing pants that I almost took back at Christmas at a slightly lower weight because they were a bit tighter than I was comfortable with.  They are no longer tight at all.  Just right.  It is no coincidence that mentally I feel just right, too!

Peace and patience, (my current mantra, sorry, you have now crossed into my circle of people that I share my mantra with)

Shel

201.3 - down a tenth.

It's coming off so sloooooowwwwwly! ACK!

Food has been on point, though yesterday I was a little bored in the afternoon - evening and had a few almonds, a piece of cloud bread with PB and a sugar free Fudgecicle. (Should have looked at more than the calories on the Fudgecicle! 10 carbs - oops!) Weekends are sometimes harder for me to stay 100% focused. I don't plan my meals out on the weekends. I like to have "brunch" on the weekends - usually a one egg omelette with meat and cheese. Yesterday I wanted an Ezekial 4:9 english muffin, but resisted because of the high carb factor. I'm wondering suddenly if that might also have been part of the "munchies" yesterday afternoon. Hmmmm....cuz we all know I don't always deal well with the whole deprivation thing.

Short week with the kiddos. They get a three day week. I have meetings on Thursday and then a nice 4 day weekend (though I have clients all weekend) ending with my b'day celebration next Monday.

Gym this afternoon. Thinking about a creative way to use turkey burgers. Any thoughts?

Shel, do you think that Instant Pot is worth it? I still haven't ordered it. Not sure why I'm hesitating!
