124.4. Last day of the month....where does the time go? I had a restful day yesterday - no exercise. In fact, I registered < 4,000 steps for the day! Most of the day was spent in front of the computer editing around 300 pictures from a school play that I attended on Thursday night. Helped my youngest son make chocolate chunk cookies for a scouting event tomorrow night. Ate too much cookie dough...no calories if it isn't cooked, right?

Church this morning, a play meeting this afternoon (middle son will be starting practice for Oliver this week) and maybe boot camp, possibly yoga later on today.

Hope everyone's weekend is going well.

Paula, glad you listened to your body and took a day of rest.  Kairk, you are doing so well, I am sure you will hit your mini-goal as you stay the course.

I ended up going cross country skiing yesterday.  It is always so nice to get out of the city.  As I skied thru the woods, I ran into my next door neighbor which was really surprising.   We chit chatted about our silly husbands just like we would if we were standing in the cul-de-sac.   After skiing, I had a 2 hour yoga workshop.  My muscles feel pleasantly fatigued today.  Slow flow yoga this morning.

First world problem:  my smartscale wasn't able to connect to the network this morning.  Does it expect me to do it manually? The nerve!

Weight 125.2.  We are making fried rice today which will be my first rice dish since VSG.  I already loaded the recipe into MFP and have a plan for the day.

Let the R&R continue!

Shel

Happy Sunday maintenance friends :-)

My scale ticked up to 114 after a salty day, including a couple of handfuls of popcorn at the movie last night. I've had several painful incidences with popcorn so fear kept me in check!

We're heading over to the RV show today so hubby is excited. We would love to have a fifth wheel with a toy hauler in it for our motorcycles so that we could travel extensively. Fun to dream about.

I'm still limping since running so skipped this morning's session. That doesn't look promising as an ongoing form of exercise.  Planning to try an introductory yoga class this week and see if I can find my place there. I've done a little in the past but never really gotten into it. The styles confuse me, and with so many classes having mixed styles nowadays I always seem to put most of my energy into trying to figure out the moves. I envy those of you who can treat the postures as old hat!

Linda, I took my first yoga class ever last June so I understand the confusion about different styles/poses, etc. I also was surprised about how different studios have different temps and how much difference that makes.

I can understand feeling lost but do know that that is true for everyone, even people that have doing it for years.   Once you get a few classes in, particularly if it is the same style or teacher, you will find some ease in the more common moves.

I have a long history of being overweight but fit and traditionally was very cardio/endurance focused.  Opting to start yoga was a real departure for me.  I can't overstate how transformative yoga has been for my whole body.  Also, there is a lot of appeal in that this will carry me thru the decades.

Initially I joked that I replaced the money spent on WLS mental health on yoga instead. I was surprised when my therapist endorsed this as a reasonable trade off.   So even tho I started it for physical benefits, I  have been shocked to find the underlying themes of breathing and intentions helpful off the mat for mental health.  In many ways, just being bossed around for 75 minutes gives me a break from my usual ruminations.

Have fun at the RV show....that does sound like fun!

Good morning all. Through my journaling and my meditation time swimming, I am starting to see a shift from eating being all about losing weight to eating being all about sustaining a healthy lifestyle.

I am still sitting a 139, even though I've been between 800-900 calories. I've been drinking 70 + oz. water, and have been very active, not eating back those calories. My walks with Sadie are increasing in distance, and I have been getting lightheaded. I have dropped another pant size ... size ten was short lived... I'm now an eight and in some cuts, I could do a six. My tops are small or X small, and I've gone from  46 D to a 32 B bras.   There is no rational reason to fight my body to get to 135. My body needs more calories  to sustain what I am asking it to do.

I am setting MFP to 1200 calories and will build slowly in that direction. I am at peace with my decision and am excited to continue to explore what my body can do, and how the way I fuel it impacts my overall health. I'm leaving my lower red line at 130. If my body wants to go there with more calories and increased activity... great. I simply need more calories to sustain the activity level I currently have.

The choice is yours to make Diane!  You've already accomplished everything you set out to do. Congratulations and get yourself settled into maintaining. And you may still get a downward weight woosh because your body is still changing rapidly.

I think not fighting it and adding calories is a good plan. I am a bit concerned about the lightheaded. Does it happen when you are walking or post exercise? If it is post exercise your blood pressure is probably getting too low. Make sure to drink enough water before, during and after an exercise session.

Morning everyone.

A strange yellow orb is in the sky and we are blinking having not seen it for seemingly ages.  Hi Sun!

Calories 909 and not much walking 6989.

No scale movement.   But I keep feeling better with not being over full.

Soooooooooooo in the back of the thrift store ( it is the only one in town ) there was a mini-rebellion.

Like all stores now there is music and this one has a huge boom box player that does the dvd thing.  Someone had put in elevator music and for my money that is the most annoying drivel around.

So I went to the front and asked to have it changed.   They put on some Mantovani type crooner which, we the back people, also can not abide.   And btw the average age of us ' backers' is 65ish with an absolutely wonderful 20 year old.

So up I went again suggesting perhaps something a little more lively like, hint, hint, CCR.  On Friday they had played CCR and we were just as happy as clams  with the 20 year old telling us that he grew up with that kind of music when going on road trips.  Thank you good parents.

This time though, the boss told us that on that Friday they had had three complaints from customers that they did not like the music.   Now!  the question is:  who ARE these people?

And so for the rest of the day we were forced to listen to Michael Buble and his ilk.   Even polka music might have been better.

And that is my report for Sat.  :)

Enjoy your Sunday.
