Good morning fellow travellers.
Raining here for a change!
Glad that you have your job for at least another month Linda. The uncertainty must be unnerving at times. And for those with injuries please get better soon.
And as for the brave souls carrying intimate body fluids ( human and animal ) all I can say is that you done good!!!!!
calories 856 but not much walking, only 5995 steps. Scale is not moving.
i volunteer at a thrift store and one of my jobs is polishing silver, a mind numbing job where the hands are busy but the thoughts are free. Yesterday was swimming in the Bahamas. Wanna join me???
Happy Saturday!!
Good Morning! Dr. appt. went as planned. He gave me a shot and I go back in three week for follow-up. So I'm taking it easy...
My food is in check(meaning I'm eating the healthy food) but eating over my calories. I am felling more in control. My supervisor brought donut to the office. I signed in, said good morning and promptly walked out the door and didn't go back upstairs!!!
Andy is at an Honor Band today. I have a massage, laundry, lesson plans and will attend the homecoming basketball game tonight.
I hope everyone has a great day!!! I wi**** were swimming in the Bahamas!
Hello!
Bahamas! Sounds delicious! I need to book a flight to San Diego for March. It is for work and it isn't the Bahamas but it will certainly do!
I am feeling gratitude today for a body that is not injured. Lesa, hope that shot did the trick, I think it was for your knee? I hope everyone has a healing weekend. One of the mantras in yoga last week was "I am light, I am healing" and I used it in a few classes. And I am not injured! Get your mantra on!
I don't know what I am doing an hour from now much less for the whole day. For sure, I have a 2 hour yoga workshop focusing on shoulders/back/upper body twists.
Depending on weather/roads, might go cross country skiing this morning. If not, there will be a yoga class.
My daughter wants to make a homemade chicken pot pie tonight so that will be interesting, too. Before VSG, a guilty pleasure was Marie Callender chicken pot pies. I liked the Costco ones because they were the biggest! Well, now I won't do those (calories/processed foods) but I am ok with helping her navigate a recipe and it will be fun to enjoy a family dinner. We have been short on those.
Take care, all! Shel

123.0 on the scale. Dinner date with hubby was good last night. Went over in calories (a bit) and way over in carbs but I am still right at my lower red line so am okay with it. Got a 40 minute walk on the treadmill over lunch yesterday.
Feeling tired and worn out today. Muscles feel fatigued. I hate to take a weekend, non work day off from exercise but might just do that today since my body is telling me to rest.
Shel, the chicken pot pie sounds divine. Have fun working the recipe into a healthier version - I know it can be done. I am making chicken fajita soup for dinner tonight. Not very healthy but doable with the portion sizes I can eat these days.
Morning all. I'm still hanging in at 113. My cat was a dweeb and insisted I get up earlier than I needed to. My sleep has been very strange this week, likely due to the meds. Also getting weird light flashes at the edges of my vision as well as a sense of foggy sight, all likely temporary medication side effects. Hopefully that settles down soon.
Said no to cake last night and it didn't cause me even a moment's discomfort. It's wonderful when my brain is not in food seeking mode.
Sitting down with my husband to have a late coffee before I get ready to go into work for a later shift. I haven't been getting a lot of work hours lately and this is an extra shift - happy to get it, even though it's Saturday.
All the best to each of you today.

Scale steady - down .4, so I'm still hanging right at 202. I'm thinking if I keep this up, I'll make my mini goal of under 200 by Feb. 15. Laser focus!
Went super high tech with the breeding yesterday - a trans-cervical insemination. Awesome! I got to watch on the TV monitor while the vet scoped my girl (who, btw, was the most well behaved little angel! She stood there and didn't even flinch during the whole thing.). So I now know what a dog's cervix looks like. Not at all, being a male with no experience in such matters, what I thought it would be. I LOVE learning this stuff! We go in for another TCI this afternoon at 4:00. Keep your collective fingers crossed for puppies!
Ron's 65th was yesterday and we celebrated at a restaurant he's been wanting to go to since it opened about a year ago and we just never got around to it. FABULOUS! Upper end trendy casual grill. We shared a warm brussels sprout salad with a bacon vinagrette topped with a poached egg. Then he went totally carb-a-licious and ate two gorgeous artisan rolls, ordered a house made pasta bolagnese and ended his meal with a butterscotch pot de creme. I chose to stay on my low carb plan and had some of the brussels sprouts and a grilled NY Steak which was served with sauteed spinach and a huge mound of mashed potatoes. I did not even sample the mashed potatoes. VICTORY! I did, however, have three spoonfuls of the pudding. Very, very good! I also passed on the pecan cookies that were served with the pudding. That was not as easy as leaving the mashed potatoes!
Shel, enjoy your unscheduled day. Paula, it's GOOD to have a rest day every so often. Your body is telling you it wants one. Carbon, stay the course, the weight will come off! Linda, when I started on wellbutrin I had side effects for about two weeks too. You know that if you tough it out, they will pass.
Have another dinner out with friends for Ron's b'day tonight. Chinese I think. More problematic to navigate.
Let's all have a restful, healing weekend.
Good Afternoon !
Swimming in a warm, sunny ocean sounds perfect !! I was grateful to be back in the pool today. I did just under my typical mile, but didn't want to push my luck. Some discomfort, but no pain.
My significant other for the past four years is a Viet Nam vet, and shortly after we met, he went back to school for a degree in drug and alcohol addiction counseling. He graduated in December, and has accepted a job at a huge Veterans Administration facility almost four hours away, in the beautiful NYS Finger Lakes region. He starts in three weeks ! So, I will stay in our home here while he tries this all out. When I retire in December, we'll sell our home and I will relocate with him. Lots of change and stress, but I am seeing the positive in all of it.
Have a great rest of the day , all !
Diane
