122.8 on the scale. Did boot camp instead of snowshoeing yesterday. Pre-op appt. for gallbladder surgery was yesterday and I was surprised to learn that I wouldn't need to stay overnight! Yay! I'm using the same surgeon that did my veins and there a few that he didn't get so I will have him address those too.

Work today and then Red Lobster tonight with the hubby. Yum! Not sure what is on tap for the rest of the weekend.

Happy end of the work week my friends!

Paula

TGIF!  Seriously!

All the talk yesterday made me flash back to my childhood.  I grew up on a cattle farm and was exposed from a very young age to animal husbandry techniques.  And that is all I am going to say about that!

Reprioritizing:

  • Sleep! I have been short for weeks and this week was particularly short.
  • Must get my next day's lunch ready early in the evening so I am not having to mess with food just before bed when I am most food vulnerable.
  • Redo how I organize my food at work.  With the increase in calories, I feel that the sheer presence of food is triggering me.  I think I will start carrying a couple lunch bags and just keep one of them at my desk.

125.3 this morning.  Didn't make it to yoga yesterday but did some home work.  Should be able to get to a class tonight (I am ever hopeful.)

I happen to know that one of my big bosses plans on spending the day at my work site "just borrowing a computer."  I like her an awful lot.  But I like her better when she is sitting on the other side of the lake.

Have a great day!!!!!

Shel

Good Morning All-

Hearing and seconding the TGIF theme !!!!

I may need AIS (Academic Intervention Services) for embedding links in posts... Kairk ..thought I followed your directions (very clear directions).

I have been sitting at 139 all week, eating no more than 900 balanced, healthy calories daily, carbs below 55. I could rationalize anything, a survival skill and a character defect depending on my intentions.  I am doing battle with a voice that says, "You had a completely well thought out target of 139-144.  Why did you shift lower ?"  That little voice then says that my BOD POD results could easily support staying in the 139-144 target range, especially looking at the data on recommended fat percentages in women over 60. See link:

http://www.builtlean.com/2010/08/03/ideal-body-fat-percentag e-chart/

I am doing some journaling to try to identify my true motivation behind this "internal battle" .  The other part of me says that if I ever want a shot at 135, I've got to do it now.

I'm also trying to put the whole thing in perspective. I am lean and healthy... the difference in the two ranges is just not a big enough deal to stress over.... but it is.

Shel... we are going to be doing a lot of reflecting and reprioritizing, as you said, during our first year in maintenance.

Carbon... we'll be your Fitbit... I'll bet you "walked the path" with more than 10,000 steps yesterday !!!

Paula... enjoy date night.  If you have a bite of that Red Lobster biscuit, think of me !  I can't begin to think about how many of those things I could put away, with their red sangria as a chaser !!

Planning to swim tomorrow !!  Enjoy the remainder of Friday, all !!

Diane

Hi all, 128.5.  Better than last week. We are going out to dinner tonight with some friends. Casino restaurant but NOT a buffet.  Hope they have some decent options.

Good wishes to all of you with health issues. Sure hope the GB surgery goes well.  And ditto the shoulder and leg and other  ouchies.

Pretty good rain today. We are already at full quota for the year but the rainy season is far from over.

Need to do a lot of boring paperwork. Think I will nap instead .   diane s.

113 and holding.  My hunger continues to be low. Yay.

I'm on the work schedule for another month so a big yay on that :-).

Running clinic started but my previously injured knee is acting up already. Not a good sign.  I'm really not ready to let running go but not sure I can afford more intensive therapy right now so not feeling terribly hopeful that I'll be able to continue. This sucks.

Beautiful weather continues today. Highs are well above freezing and the sun is shining. Happy Friday to all of you!

Hi Everyone!  I'm later than usual today.  It's been busy, but good busy!

Food is getting better.  The calorie count yesterday was a bit high, but I stayed out of grazing and refined carbs!!!  More of the same today so far.

I too am glad it's Friday.  Two more hours and I'm free for the next couple of days!!  Plans, other than going to my daughter's track meet in the morning, are still up in the air, but that's okay.

Nothing profound to offer today.  I've read everyones's posts, but forgotten who said what, so I'll just try to absorb the messages of hope and growth.  Hugs to all!

Mary

I had typed in a nice reply earlier today, but never finished and then forgot about it. (I sneak moments when the kids are working independently to read the posts and work on a reply and send it off after it's finished. Sometimes I'll start a reply at 8:30 and send it around 2:00!)

Off in a few minutes now to have Blue bred the new fangled way. I added up the costs just to get her preggers and it is utterly shocking. And on a teacher's salary. I think I'm certifiably insane. I could go to friggin' Europe instead! Something is wrong with me... Oh, yeah, I'm a dog person....duh.....

Scale was roughly the same - up .2, but that's not even worth counting. Calories were under 1,100 yesterday (1061 to be exact) and carbs were at 31. I think the carb detox is absolutely complete today. I was not really hungry at all today, but ate as scheduled. So far I'm at 508 cals, 9 carbs, 64 protein.

I have to say that I'm very impressed by the three new ladies to maintenance and their thoughtful approaches to their individual transitions. Though I believe that my path was the one I needed to travel to understand the depth of my disordered eating, I do wish I had taken the possibility of regain more seriously and devised a maintenance plan that didn't include almost daily frozen yogurt to add calories back because I couldn't "eat" enough during a day to stop losing weight. Had I only known.... 20/20 right?

Linda, great news about the job!

Paula, have fun on date night. Get damn good meds for your GB surgery. I had ambulatory surgery too, and my pain management was horrid. Frankly, if you can swing a night in the hospital, do it. VSG for me was a walk in the park compared to my GB surgery 18 months prior.

Happy weekend everyone!
