Brrrrrrrrr. Not even getting into the single digits here today - minus 20 with windchill. Needless to say, I don't think I'm leaving the house today!

Scale at 124.4. Up .2. Calories and carbs over yesterday but that was on purpose - I had been losing .1-.2 daily for a bit and was getting close to my lower red line. Don't want to dip below that red line right before possible gallbladder surgery where I will likely lose some more. Did an hour on the treadmill yesterday, 45 minutes the day before. Boot camp and yoga on the docket for today.

It is my youngest son's birthday today (13). He wants to go to a pizza buffet for dinner. I think I might just pass and stay home. I could probably work the calories in but wouldn't want to set off another gallbladder attack with the high fat content.

Have a great day friends!

Paula

Great thinking Paula, the fat from pizza used to do me in before I had my gallbladder out. Happy 13th Birthday to you son. Great job on all your exercise and weight loss, you are amazing.

For me. I am up 1lb 152 - but I suspected that. The first week I was 155 and dropped to 151 in only a few days, a four pound loss for me was not realistic, I think I was dehydrated at 151 a week ago. I knew I would have a bounce back, so am I happy with 3 lbs over two weeks, yes and no, the old scale thing is messing with my head. I want more I always want more.  When I sit down and look at, 3 lbs in two weeks is a great loss. I am a slow loser always have been and always will be, it is just my body make up. And this is not a new weight gain, I have been holiding these extra few lbs since the fall, so it may take a bit longer to get them off. I am in a better place now, where I am not panicing about them and causing myself tons of stress over it. Stress over it means all those negative thoughts. For me this is truly not about the food, it is about my emotions.

For today, I will go to the gym and keep the course. As long as I keep the course the extra lbs have no choice but to come off. And 5 extra lbs to lose sure is a long way from the 200 already gone. I will weigh in next Saturday, because early in the wee hours of Sunday morning I am leaving for two weeks holidays. Away from the cold, I can hardly wait. And hopefully I will have a job to come home to!

Have a fabulous day everyone and for those of us facing -39 degrees stay warm!

You're doing great Lorna. Interesting that thing about our bodies taking awhile to get going with 'old' weight. I found the same thing to be true last fall when I had to cut back for the first time in a long time. It really took awhile to get moving, but things 'caught up' over time. Still took me 5 or 6 weeks to lose 5 pounds with a daily reduction of 500 calories.  For me, the 3500 calorie 'rule' to lose or gain a pound applies.

Good morning, everyone!

I am feeling very weather weanie this morning as I sit cocooned in my heated throw next to fire place and it is 46 degrees outside.  (It has been super rainy, does that count?)

123.3 today which is so low that I can't retain that number in my brain and have to depend on fiibit to remember. I am still not exactly sure what "red line" means but I think my red line is 121.  I don't think I need to see 121.  I wouldn't mind seeing 122 but no worry or hurry to get there. Funny how the brain sets desires like that.

My work party went well yesterday! I don't think that even volume was much of an issue and I know that content was ok.   Honestly, since VSG, roasted vegetables (preferably in volume) are more tempting to me than baked goods.  Who am I?!

I shopped yesterday.  I cannot begin to express how surreal it is to enjoy shopping.  Also, to marvel at the difference between BMI 25 (where I had breeder hips that I was sure couldn't be modified) to BMI 21-22 where my hips are proportional (and maybe smaller?) to my upper half.

Paula, I like your potential gallbladder surgery strategies.  Lorna, you ARE doing well!!!!!!  You are right, just keep plugging along and you will get to where you want to be.

On tap for today:  slow flow yoga this morning and yin yoga tonight.  And, (heavy sigh,) take down the Christmas tree.  If I type it, it will happen.

Stay warm and cozy, friends!

Nice job Shel! We are both below that 125 line.

I agree about the body shape changing even from a few BMI points. I'm shaped much more like a boy these days - not so much like a 50 year old woman!

Have fun with your yoga - maybe we will be doing downward dogs at the same time today!

Good Morning All-

Thank you Lorna and Paula, for making 34 sound warm ! I'll try to get out with Sadie again before the predicted squalls. I'm back and showered from my mile in the pool.

I am going to clean up some of my Pinterest boards after I add some music to my iPod swim playlist. How many of us are on Pinterest? I have some great motivational pins I'm always adding to. Lorna, your resilient perseverance has reminded me of several of them.

Paula and Shel...I love hearing about your continuing adjustments to your new bodies and new normal. I can't begin to fathom the immensity of it all sometimes !!

Devon your physical achievements continue to inspire me to push longer, harder, stronger. I think we are all trying to maximize our health and our sleeves, by looking forward and taking advantage of opportunities to learn more about ourselves.

Have a great day focused friends.

Good morning friends. Scale is holding nicely at the low end of 114, which is exactly where I expected to be at this point in my weight loss regime. My calories remain at 1000 and I'm feeling comfortable there now. Still didn't have that glass of wine - maybe tonight. DH is planning to make a spicy chicken dish.  Even at 3.5 years post op I still won't drink much wine with the actual meal. Most is consumed before and I have a few small sips with the food itself.

We're having colder weather here too, but not like poor Lorna is experiencing in Manitoba. That's freakin' cold!!  Not sure what I'll get up to today, maybe stay in and watch a movie. Although we've been doing more than our fair share of that lately with the cooler temps and low light at this time of year. We watch The Martian last night - it was pretty good so worth an iTunes purchase. Best Picture worthy? No

Morning all.

I am NOT doing well at all.  Scale is up and deservedly so.  Do fine during the day and fall badly at night.  ( thank heavens have managed to stop getting up in the night to eat )

am so very frustrated with self and even though the walking has been excellent the food issue at this point seem like Mount Everest.

today is a new day but there is no getting away from the feeling of being a failure at food control.
