Good Morning All-

I finally broke down and got  a Tushi step monitor band, as it's supposed to be waterproof, and work for swimming. For $40, I'm willing to try it out. I can feel myself expanding my mindset from weight loss to more generalized health. What I challenge my body to do is right up there with what I put in to it.

Tonight is pool night. The wind is down, but it is still in the 20's. Potential for a huge coastal storm this weekend. Shoveling burns lots of calories !!

Paula and Shel...eager to hear how you are doing adding back calories. Paula... hope your date is soon too ! Sending lots of positive energy to the whole group. Each of us is so committed to making the most of our sleeve and health.

Scale at 124.2 today. I was at 1,328 for calories yesterday, up just a little. Tattoo appointment back on for Thursday with the blessing of my gallbladder surgeon's office. Gallbladder set to be evicted on February 5th. I did level 2 boot camp for the first time yesterday, it went pretty well. I skipped on the yoga, thinking that might be pushing it a bit. Hoping to do the treadmill at lunch today if we don't have a work meeting.

Diane - good for you for looking at total health and not just weight loss. Exercise is key here and you are doing a great job!

Good morning all.

be careful in the storm you east coasters.

very mild here on the west coast, at least here in B.C.  Only rain and as we are not sugar we will not melt.

Calories 980, steps 13,563.

This week has seemed so long or is it just me?

Good morning everyone,

Diane great job on looking at total health, let me know how you like your Tushi step band and if it really is waterproof. I would be interested to know.

Paula - good news on the Gallbladder front and of course the tattoo - I want to see pictures once it is done. Way to go on bootcamp and smart to kick back on the yoga. You are so intune to your body great work.

Carbon - super work on the calories and steps.

As for me well, I had an off day/evening I guess. I went up to 1500 calories yesterday, most of it protein. I could not get full for some reason yesterday. Oh wait a minute the reason was stress and I totally ate over it - at least I kept it clean. Moving on today and off to boot camp - it is cardio bust today YIKES! kinda freaks me out a bit I must admit. This trainer is hard core so I will see how I fair. Maybe I'll burn off some of those extra calories today!

Any way hugs to all - have a wonderful Wednesday!  Lorna

Good morning!

124.8 this morning.  With friendly nudging from Linda and Paula, I reset my mfp calories to 1200/day.  I will plan to eat a minimum of 1000 a day as I ease my brain into this.  My current thought is that extra calories will come primarily from more fats (I'm looking at you, peanuts!), some protein, and to a much lesser extent, carbs.

I have to be careful not to push myself into volume triggered eating.  I know no one gets fat on vege's, but I truly believe that past veges-are-free diets encouraged my natural tendency to volume.  Always(!), those volume vege's converted to a volume calorie dense foods.  As I add more food to my diet in general, I want to make sure that don't re-develop an association of satiety with feeling-full.  In practice, that feeling full feeling is the opposite of satiety.  There, THAT is what I need tattooed on me!

Hope the looming Eastcoast storm is more media hype than storm!  Diane, I think you, me and Paula are going to have a great year of fine tuning our bodies.  So glad to be in the same boat as you!  Carbon, I have my best rain coat out for the coming days! Lorna, can't wait to hear about cardio-bust.  Better you than me!  I am not quite ready for that kind of cardio intensity.

Thank you so much for your generous collective wisdom!

Shel

Good morning!

What inspiring words and actions from everyone!  I am amazed at the strength and wisdom you all posess!

Hopefully the storm will blow out to sea.  As of the last I heard, we're going to miss the storm here in central Maine.  I will be sending good vibes to all of you in the projected path of the storm, as well as for my other family and friends in southern New England.  I'm originally from MA, so have lots of folks down there.

Food still not where I want it to be, but getting there.  Last night was the first jazz class held since 12/1.  I've really missed it and and had a ball last night.  We started learning our routine for the recital, and had quite a few laughs when I started strutting 4 counts before I was supposed to!  I'm holding onto that wonderful feeling today as a reminder of the joy I've experienced since WLS, while at the same time, remembering the misery from prior, as inspiration for eating cleanly today.

I started a journal this morning.  Nothing profound as yet :), but I have to start somewhere!  I also got a fitbit for Christmas, but need to figure out how to use it.  My older daughter, who is as difficult to pin down as shifting sand, is supposed to help me to get started, as she has one too.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Mary

Sounds like all is well with the early risers!

Diane, Paula, and Shel - good plans on the addition of calories. I would like to suggest adding calories with healthy fats - sliced avocado, 1 oz of almonds, a little extra grassfed butter or coconut oil in your meals, switching to full fat yogurt. Try not to add volume if you don't need to.

Mary, it's wonderful that you started journaling. I find it helpful - especially when I'm trying to figure out what's going on internally. Journaling really helps me sort my feelings out when I'm feeling off or unbalanced or anxious.

As for me, I'm miffed today. I was over 246 calories yesterday and over by 30 carbs (I had an Ezekial 4:9 English muffin half with my dinner of beef soup and then some extra dairy yesterday). The scale paid me back with a full pound gain.

ARGHHHHHHHHHH!

I'm also feeling tired today and my right deltoid has a bit of a knot. Ewwwww...... whiny me today! LOL. At least I can chuckle at myself and get over it!

Hi all, well i have nothing good to report. weight the same. busy day yesterday but mainly looking at computer screens. Biggest exercise was walking around in costco. Suns out for a minute or two.

Dog Chip has a date this morning to make puppies.  Hope it takes.  Our house keeper may arrive just in time for doggie style in the living room.  She already thinks we are nuts because of the can of Red Bull that went through the wash.

Well gotta get moving.  The lovely little ***** will be here any time.  diane s

well I had posted about the Red Bull before. A few weeks ago i went to unload the washer and there was a very clean full unopened can of Red Bull there.  What the F?  Turns out our housekeeper drinks the stuff. She must have set the can down on the washer in our crowded junked up laundry room and somehow it got knocked into the washer . i ran the washer, having no clue it was there.  the next time she came back we presented her with the very clean Red Bull. She thought it was funny and said she had been wondering what happened to that.  So glad it didn't explode.  So glad it wasn't some hideous protein drink that never would have washed out. diane s
