Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!
Scale at 124.8 today. Good day yesterday for eating and exercise. Hoping to hear from my PCP today whether or not I will gallbladder surgery. Kinda hoping if so that it can wait until at least next week. Hair cut scheduled for tomorrow and tattoo scheduled for Thursday already. Of course I'm saying that when I'm not in pain - if I had another episode I would be screaming take this dang thing out now!
Have a great day!
Good morning Paula,
Good to hear you had a great day and I hope you get good news from the PCP today. What kind of tattoo are you getting and where are you putting it. I had one done when I was struggling to get to run a 5K. I had a stargazer lilly put on the inside of my left forearm. The heaviest I ever weighed is tattooed in the stems of the flower, kind of abstractly so I know what it is but if I didn't tell you, you would never know; and on the bottom wrapping the flower I have the word believe. The stargazer lily flower stands for dedication, commitment, struggles and dreams come true. It is a reminder of where I was and if you believe, you can get there. A week after I had the tat done I ran my first 5 K, very slowly and it took me an hour, but hey I finished it out.
Anyway, I digress. I had to step on the scale this morning, I just had this feeling. And Whoot Whoot it moved down 2 lbs so I'm not at 150 from 155. I acutally had a BM yesterday and not induced by any meds, so I am confident that this is true weight loss. I won't make my covented 147 by my holidays but I won't be 155 and gaining either. Last year on my holidays I lost 4 lbs so who knows. Lots and Lots of walking where I'm going it is a huge resort and resturants are 1/2 mile to walk to. I planned it that way :-)!
Boot camp for me today!
Have a great day everyone!
Good Morning All !
I love the story behind your tattoo, Lorna ! Paula, I'd love to hear about your placement and story too !
Today was my 364th consecutive day logging in to MFP !!! I'm 140.2, and that brings me to ten pounds down for this month so far. (I only lost 5 in December, and some of the current 10 is taking that Xmas water bounce back off.) When I started this process, I would never in my wildest dreams have thought I'd get into the 130's !??Tomorrow is my Bod Pod and I am excited !!!
Off to my 90 minute massage in a bit, and then I'll be drinking water like it's my job, to flush out all of the toxins !
Have a great day all !
Diane

Happy MLKJ day!
Paula, is there an issue with having a tattoo just before surgery? I know nothing about tattoos but that is a relatively common question in the general forums. The answers that think it is a bad idea say the concern is that the infection rate would be higher. As for your hair cut, of course it comes first, gallbladder surgery second!
While tattoos aren't my thing, I like hearing about others. Lorna, I loved how meaningful yours is. I marvel at how much thought went into it. I would never be able to decide what I wanted much less how to creatively lace meaning into it.
Diane Ocean, you are doing fabulous! And tomorrow is bod pod day! Whoot Whoot!
122.7 today. The last time (and the only time) I weighed 122 was when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer. I had been sick with a GI illness for a few weeks. As much as I didn't want to travel with a GI illness, I finally felt forced to seek care with our nurse down river. It was going to be a long, miserable trip so I paid extra to be in a bush taxi rather than a bus. Being a bush taxi newbie, I didn't realize seat placement is everything when live goats are tied to the top of the roof. When the goat above me peed, it would rain in on me. Many hours later, I finally got to the Peace Corrp office. I was tired, sweaty, dehydrated, miserable and my clothes were stiff with dried goat pee. I stepped on the scale and it was 122. Everything changed, I felt like I was immersed in the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I was 122!
And with that, my friends, I wish for you a pot of gold day, no matter what pees on you.
