I love the blonds!  I haven't seen the Bright Sky blend so I will keep my eye out.  My coffee making has become a so-far harmless ritualized behavior.

My surgeon doesn't allow coffee, even decaf after VSG

No way! No research to back that position. Wonder if he has a personal bias against java? I wonder if he's old school and still goes by the outdated info that coffee of any type is a diuretic?

I'm sure you're used to it by now, but I feel a bit for you. Coffee is my favorite non guilty pleasure! Seriously, I look so forward to my one afternoon cup. It's very ritualistic for me.

It is the acid in the coffee that he is concerned about. I may eventually go back to it though! ; )

Hello second family. Hope today is going well for each and every one of you.

Scale is sticking at 115 and I'm eating around 1000-1100 calories daily. Expecting to see a scale drop in the next week. And there's been some bathroom progress.  Woohoo!! Is it the daily addition of a Quest Bar combined with the Miralax regime?  Anybody's guess, but for now things are moving!

I haven't been doing any evening eating this week so calorie control is super easy right now. Instead of snacking, I'm productively using evenings to add some much needed fluids by way of herbal teas. Fluids are still not ideal (I often have long periods of satiety/fullness after eating, which lowers my desire to drink anything), but better when I use evenings this way. That may be contributing to my bathroom success too. Regardless, I need the liquids for sure.

Went for my annual physical this morning.  Tons of tests ordered, including an x-ray on my hand which Is still fairly sore since my motorcycle spill a couple of months back.

Also I'm going to try a 'newer' (but not new)  antidepressant that I've not tried before. It's supposed to also work well for anxiety (which is my dominant symptom, with depression running a close second).  My doctor is completely on board with me stopping if there's any increased appetite/weight side effects. She prescribed half the typical dosage and she is hoping it may even work if I take it every other day due to my small size. Not convinced I could get any efficacy with so little drug, but I'll start with the half dose and take it from there. She has given me free range to play with up and down dosing because I've taken similar drugs many times in the past. I know myself well in that regard and she has a lot of trust in me.  Other than my ppi, I haven't taken much medication of any kind since my surgery so we will see!

And of course my doc was over the moon about my continued weight stabilization. I took a moment to pay myself on the back too :-)
