Scale at 124.6 this morning - yay! Calories and carbs good yesterday. I did get my boot camp level one in yesterday and advanced to level 2 yoga. upper body is sore from that and the trampoline park on Monday. I think today will be a rest day from exercise.
I work and then bible study tonight. Should be a busy day. I have my 1 month post-op follow-up with my vein surgeon tomorrow. Things are healing well and I am so happy to be able to be back to exercise.
Happy, happy hump day!
Good Morning !!!
140.8 this morning, and then my Quest bar did its job ! (I never reweigh... just consider it an edge for tomorrow !)
Paula, great job on your double header ! Boot camp AND going up a level in yoga !
Thanks for all of the input I received on cholesterol. I simply can't imagine moving into maintenance and working toward being successful living a healthy, balanced life without all of you. I am grateful.
I'm making a healthy shrimp scampi on spaghetti squash tonight before I head to the pool for my mile. My ice cleats (for sneakers or boots) arrived yesterday, so Sadie has a shot at a walk if the wind backs off a bit.
Happy Hump Day all !

Hello all!
124.8 this morning.
My first personal training session went well yesterday. Of course we are just getting started but I can tell I will love it. He can't wait to see my dexa report which made me love him more.
I like that in this group that we take nothing for granted. We collect information from all sources and then actively try to apply it to ourselves, always ready to change direction if it turns out there is a better path.
Yoga this morning and depending what time I get out of work tonight, perhaps yin yoga tonight.

Good morning all,
Great comments this morning and congratulations to everyone on your successes you encourage and enlighten me.
Had a good day yesterday calories and carbs were good. Have been off exercise for a couple of days due to an arthritis flare up in ankle. It is pretty well back down and walkable today so back to the gym tomorrow. I think the bitter cold may just have triggered my ankle to swell and become to painful to step on. Self care though has/is taking care of it.
Anyway keep on doing your great jobs everyone and congratulations to all of you with your great numbers - that is so awesome - I am proud of you all!

Hi Everyone!
Sound like everyone is working hard at their plans. Kudos to you all - you inspire me!
Once again it's been a few days since I posted, and once again, I've been struggling. Today is a bit better, but over the weekend, I got back into the salty carbs. It's funny, salty stuff was never a trigger for me, as I much preferred sugar. My food issues are complex, to say the least. I did have a talk with myself on Monday, which helped in the moment. I had a crazy day at work, and never had time for a lunch break. I ate a couple of lowfat cheeses sticks while working, but was starving when I went to a meeting at a guardian's house in the late afternoon. There were lots of folks there, and the guardian had bought a couple of pizzas, which is something I typically don't eat. I drank my decaf, but after that, my stomach was grumbling so badly, I finally gave in and had a slice. In and of itself, not a biggie. However, the old tapes started playing, and they were trying to tell me that I might as well continue eating, and I was craving more, though didn't have any more. On the way home, I processed and realized that what I did was ok, but it didn't mean that I had to continue eating, especially high carb foods, and if I want to continue to grow, I need to be able to eat a little off plan and move on, not getting stuck. I felt better and let it go. However, later on, while I was getting dinner ready, I found myself grazing on easy to grab carbs, which I did a little more, even after I'd had supper and my hunger had been satiated. I'm not sure what form it will take, but I need to find a way - therapy, etc. - to work on these entrenched food issues, or I will continue to struggle.
Thanks for listening and have a great Wednesday!
Mary
I'm glad that you are staying positive. It can be so frustrating trying to understand the driving forces that undermine our knowledge and logic when it comes to eating. You will get there. I love how you are doing the self talk. Also, remember, that for many of us once the carb door has been opened it stays open for the rest of the day. (It sure does for me). I do know that once I have a full night's sleep my blood sugar is back on track and it's a new day with a fresh start; on the physical level at least!
