Happy Saturday, all!
Down another .6 today. Gotta love it! I was thinking yesterday that after so many years I really do KNOW how to take weight off and now in a very healthy way, too. I sure hope I can develop the same intrinsic nature when it comes to maintaining this time! Keeping my eye on the road ahead and already beginning to plan what maintenance is going to look like this time around.
I had one of the most intense training sessions of my life yesterday. You know how you see those people on TV who get pushed and pushed and then are so done in they have to walk about to catch their breath? Yup, that was me! He gave me two exercises that just about did me in. I was proud of myself for being able to complete them. The first was Medicine Ball Slam Squat Burpees followed by squat side steps the length of the gym and repeat on that side of the gym. Had to do two sets of those and they are intense. The other one that was pretty awesome was pushing the sled. He stocked it with, get this- 255 pounds plus the weight of the sled (over 50 lbs). I had to push that back and forth the length of the gym 4 times. Then the usual to accompany those - 100 lb rows, chest press (100 lb), incline sit ups. Did that entire set twice. It took me 35 minutes to complete both sets. Then followed with some cardio to cool down.
Day of dog trimming ahead. One coming soon and one in the morning. Hoping the rain clears up for a bike ride this afternoon. If not, off to the gym for some ellipitical or maybe the moving stair machine (dont' know the real name of that thing).
DEXA SCAN - I became intrigued and thought I would look into it. I'm pleased that I found a center within an hour of home. A body composition scan is $125. Not bad. You can buy a 3 test package too, for $350. They offer group rates, too. Anyone want to come to the bay area and we can have a meet up and testing! Could be fun!!!!
Man, you guys are such jocks! wish i could get into it but I am proud of all of you.
And I am up a pound for no discernible reason other than an extremely salty dinner. I got a cooked turkey breast at costco which seemed like a good idea but I added a little pesto sauce from a jar and it was salty as the dead sea. will skip the sauce tonight. ditto peanuts.
well DH went out and got me some half and half yesterday so i think I'll keep him. Actually he went to the store to get rice and hamburger for one of our dogs who has not been eating. We keep no rice in the house! Anything for the dogs.
Yesterday was slow and dull at the art gallery until the last 30 minutes when one of our regular customers came in and bought a boat load of stuff! Always fun. Too bad there is nothing aerobic about entering sales data on The Square.
Keep up the good work. diane with coffee.
I'm the latecomer today. Scale jumped up to 117, likely from fluid retention and my usual bowel issues. I've been limiting my calories but I haven't been successful with staying 100% on plan with the types of foods I'm eating. So more salty carby choices than are ideal for me, but I'm not sweating. It always takes me time to settle back into diet mode. It's wonderful to have enough background and experience to kno there's no reason to panic. Cravings and changes take time to feel normal.
Okay all you active folks have made me tired just reading about your escapades. You rock! Diane S. refill our wine glasses while we watch ...

Bowel issues - commiseration time - I broke down and bought Miralax last night and started it up again today. I'm hoping it works! I'm just sort of tired of the whole poop (or should I say, no poop?) issue. I was hoping to be done with the "poop ****tail", but as long as I'm eating like this I guess it's just something I have to deal with. The only time it gets better is if I start eating a lot (and I mean a lot) of refined carbs and fat.
Interestingly, Miralax was a game changer for me during weight loss. The only time in my entire life when I went daily/regularly. Now not so much, despite a full daily dose of the stuff. I never experience pain or discomfort, no matter how long it is between BM's but the problem is that I pretty much 'explode' when my body can hold no more! And boy that's debilitating and painful!!
Gawd it's so great to have people to share poop woes with!!!

Miralax does not work for me. I have the exploding episodes with pain when I can finally go which is usually once a week and when I'm running. It caused so many problems for me that I ended up off exercise and needing buscopan three times a day for weeks. I now use Align everyday and I have been good but with the diet change it messed me up. I will have to see how it goes. I took one herbal senna last night and it worked no pain and no explosion
I've had the same issues with running. There have been times that I've had to give it up due to diarrhea episodes too. It's really a fine line - and it seems that I'm going to have to experiment further with how I manage it.
