Good Morning !
I found out the pool repair at the local high school is going to take at least an additional week. Being out of my swimming routine for two weeks is totally unacceptable. I really didn't notice the shift from swimming laps 3 times a week as recreation to swimming a mile three times a week to strengthen my mind and body... but I'm suffering withdrawal ! I use a waterproof iPod when I swim, listening to uplifting music. I use that time to meditate and to feel mindful of the synergy between body and music. The calorie burn is a bonus. I've made appointments at the YMCA and an area fitness center with a pool. I'll try one onto today, and one out tomorrow and I can resolve this on my terms.
Down again today...142.6. Have a great day, everyone !

Wow, 2 early risers this Saturday morning (and posting at the same time!) Good for you for getting up and getting your day started! Scale at 126.2, still downward trend. For some crazy reason I want to be at 125 - nice round number - a little OCD perhaps? I look and feel fine right where I am at but that 125 is calling my name!
Great eating day yesterday! 75 G Carbs, 120 G protein and 29 G Fat - below calorie range by almost 200. I also got 45 minutes on the treadmill at lunch yesterday. Upper body is still sore from boot camp and yoga on Thursday. I think I will do step aerobics today and try boot camp again tomorrow.
Diane, I love the water but never have done laps. I used to teach water aerobics and loved that though! I love how you use that time to meditate! I often listen to Worship songs during my outside walking exercise time (though not this time of year) and use that time to get my Praise on!
Happy Saturday everyone - make today count!
We are scale twinsies today! And yes, I prefer 125 on the dot. At least until I can get to 123 on the dot then I might prefer that!

Good morning everyone!
Diane Ocean, that is such a bummer about the pool. I am sure that that I would feel the same withdrawal if I didn't have yoga available for the week. I didn't realize that people swim with ipods! I always find the pool lap swim such an insular experience, everyone very much in their own heads. I love the idea of synergy of mind and music. I hope one of the other pools work out.
Weight 126.2 which is 2.2 lbs over two days ago. This shows the power of salty hot and sour soup one day and pho the next. My eating has been ok in general. I did have a couple of mouthfuls of pho noodles which is my first noodles in over a year. I tried to order "half-noodles" but it still looked like a lot of noodles. I liked them but will likely go back to my usual no-noodle order.
I need to work for 2-3 hours this morning and then I will head up the mountain for xcountry skiing. Yin Yoga this evening.
Diane, you are SO right about milk not hitting the spot in coffee! Must have creamer! Getting my coffee ready to take with me skiing takes longer than getting my gear together.
Go forth and conquer!
Shel

Good morning everyone,
Nice to see you all hear and all with such positive encouragement! You guys Rock!
Scaled moved back down today 1.3lbs (151 from 155 last Sat). I did boot camp yesterday and it kicked my ass. I have never done a step class ever or done step. Boot camp yesterday was a full 60 mins of step and band strengthing and push ups and planks. Then I met DH at the Y and did another 45 mins of 10 incline walking at 4.3 mphs, burned alot of calories according the machine 460 something. I don't ever believe the calorie burn but I do enter my stuff into MFP, just for tracking purposes, and activity levels so I can chart what works for me.
It feels great to be back at the gym in full swing again. Well off for a run now and then the usual Saturday stuff. I have 8 pounds of thin sliced beef that I have been marinating and will start cooking my jerky today. I love homemade jerky and the bonus is no chemicals I make my own marinade. We are going away for two weeks at the end of Jan and I take my Jerky with me.
Have a great day Everyone Happy Weekend!
You are a warrior!
I enter exercise into MFP, too because it is fun to look at even tho I don't eat those calories. I don't think I am ready to delve into homemade jerky but I bet I have the equipment so may try it in the future.

Well, now I need a recipe --- do you have one or do you just instinctively know what to throw together?
