VSG Maintenance Group
Wednesday, January 6th
Good morning all,
Scale moved down 1.4 lbs today (152). Had a great food day yesterday and stayed within calories, got my water in and high protein low carbs. Had a good 45 minute run. Will be doing boot camp today - see how that goes. I think I am finally ready to join a class to do a workout. For the past three years I exercise alone, because I always think I am the biggest in the room (old thought patterns); I know it is not real but it is that feeling. So for today I will step out of my comfort zone and attend the group boot camp and might even enjoy working out with other people.
Happy Hump day all and Paual great job on the eating and exercise yesterday! Way to Go!!!
I totally relate to avoiding classes! Even now, if I open that door and see a lot of yoga mats already on the floor, it is hard to step into room. I try to get there a little early so I can get my spot and then zone out.
I DO like the other people in the class, tho, and I get more out of the class than what I would if I was practicing on my own. Also, I think there is value in simply being out of my comfort zone that translates to other areas of life.
Breathe deep and enjoy!

Good for you Lorna! I can relate. I started a jazz class 3 weeks after surgery. when it came time to order costumes, for the first 3 years I ordered a bigger size, being so afraid that the size I actually am would be too small, and each year I had lots of room to spare. Last year, I finally ordered the right size and it fit perfectly. This year, we're wearing the top and jacket to the same costume form last year, so I'll be all set. It takes so much time for our heads and body image to catch up to where we really are.
I am SO IMPRESSED with you being in a jazz class! Since there are costumes, does that mean that you are in a performance/recital? I always cheer loudest for the adult classes at my daughter's recitals.

Good morning, peeps!
125.0 this morning which is nice to see again. It is my official goal weight so I feel warm and fuzzy. Looks like the early posters are trending happy with weight. Go team!
Signed up for personal training last night. He comes well recommended and I liked his general thoughts on what really matters for my fitness in the long run. We will get started for real next week. I don't plan to do this forever because I am not willing to put that much financial investment into it. But, I am very much looking forward to seeing what the next several months brings to this battered body of mine.
Yoga later today. I haven't been to an actual class for a couple of days which is highly unusual.

Good for you getting a personal trainer. That is something I may do eventually. My son for right now is my trainer, he is a body builder, strong man competitor and milary member, so he is good, but I think someone who is not related may be better and may push me a bit harder.
Congrats and have fun at yoga!
Not sure what your trainer charges, but I went in with the same attitude as you - doing it for the short term. I found the trainer so beneficial I have been with him weekly now for almost 4 years. Next month will mark the 4 year point. However, my guy is very reasonable and specializes in working with older adults (isn't that a nice way of saying old???) many of whom have weight issues. He's really good and I attribute a lot of my strength to his individualized program specifically for me.
Down another 1.5 today. Like I said before, lots of water!
The plan is to just keep on the path.
Ron is not really understanding the no sugar thing. He had cereal yesterday afternoon citing that he needed fiber and it was low fat and low sugar. Yeah, 26 grams of sugar, low sugar..... Sigh.... He is doing the best he can though.
Happy hump day to all!
EDIT: Oh, and to whom this may apply: DON'T FORGET TO EAT A MORNING MEAL!
