Friday January 15th
Happy January Hump Day !
Got a quick walk in with Sadie last night, but it is still very cold. Looking forward to the Y and some longer walks this weekend. We have had a total of 3" of snow so far, and it has been windy and between 15- 25 degrees since Christmas. Can't really complain, living in upstate NY!
Looking forward to a long weekend, a massage on Monday, and my Bod Pod Tuesday.

Scale at 124.4 today. Over on calories and carbs yesterday and NO exercise and I'm okay with that! Just felt super drained all day yesterday!
I had what I am almost certain was a severe gallbladder attack last night. 10 out of 10 agitated pain right below my sternum in the epigastric area. Pain had me doubled over and doing Lamaze breathing just to get through it. It felt like I was going to die! Pain lasted about 20-30 minutes and then just as quickly as it came on, it went away. I had a very similar episode the beginning of November and went to the ER. The pain resolved very shortly after I got there so they didn't do an ultrasound but a blood test revealed an elevated Lipase level. When I saw my bariatric surgeon the end of December he said I needed to get an ultrasound to check it out because an elevated Lipase just isn't normal. Of course with it being the Holidays and life the usual busy, I had not done so yet. I will be calling my PCP today to see if I can get in soon. I bet I will be looking at gallbladder surgery in my near future!
Happy Friday everyone - hope the weekend will be enjoyable for you all!

Had mine out many years ago. Very similar pain symptoms as yours. Easy surgery for me with no lasting side effects. It is a hassle to deal with, tho, for sure! Good luck.

Yup sounds like gallbladder pain. I feel for you! Hopefully you can get that looked at soon because it's downright miserable to deal with. I had mine removed after a previous major weight loss round. Unfortunately I had to wait about eight or nine months to have the surgery in Canada. Although there aren't a lot of negatives about our health care here, waiting is one of the major downsides.

Being in the "industry" you know how they are about gallbladder surgery. Do your best to convince them to take it out instead of trying to moderate the disease through diet. Having lived with chronic gallbladder issues for 9 years because it was misdiagnosed because the NP was clearly biased against obese people (yes, my symptoms were all attributed to gastritis because, and I'm dead serious when I quote this, "Look at yourself. Clearly you eat like crap and that's why you have this problem." ) I can tell you that eventually the attacks last for days on end. The acute pain goes away to a degree, but the crippling, doubling over events will strike several times throughout the day and last a few minutes. Had I known what was really wrong with me, I would have asked to have my gallbladder removed ASAP. Once they did an ultrasound my gallbladder was at risk of rupturing it was so bad.
Morning, Mates!

Morning all.
sorry for the pain. I guess the sooner you know the sooner something will be done and the sooner you will feel better. Lots of 'work/appointments' in between.
over calories by 230 but walked 16,897 steps in the most glorious sunshine.
Rain begins again this morning. Be careful in the snow and ice.
