Good morning, Gladiators!
Scale up a bit at 126.1. I spent some time today looking for what to expect from water weight gain after coming out of ketosis. I didn't find anything scholarly, but I think that once I complete 2 weeks I should be safely out of that stage. I think today is day 7 and really feel pretty lucky that I am up just 1-2 pounds. Honestly, it is hard to know if that is related at all to coming out of ketosis.
More importantly, size 2 pants fit at JCrew yesterday. I know, I know, fashion sizing and all that jazz. STILL, a size 2!
Kairk, best of luck with your reset today. Good for Ron (I hope I am remembering his name correctly) for joining in.
Thoroughly enjoyed xcountry skiing yesterday. The mountains were glorious! The trees were flocked! I wasn't short of breath! 2 yoga classes on tap for today (one flow and one yin.)
Have a great day!

Hello All-
Happy reset day ! It sounds like we all have something we're trying to get back on track with ! Shel, great job with those pants and I loved hearing about the cross country skiing! I'm actually beginning to believe my arthritic knees can handle it again, with the weight off. Just need some snow to test out the theory.
I have Adele 25 playing (the entire CD is exceptional) as I clean out my drawers and made a huge donate pile to make room for the thermal underwear !
Still trying to identify and incorporate the parts of "Intuitive Eating" that resonate with me. I read something today that speaks what is true for me. "Intuitive eating works when disordered eating patterns are successfully managed. Once your eating is disordered, your intuition about food and eating is skewed by old patterns and beliefs." I wouldn't say that my disordered eating is resolved/ successfully managed, based on my experiences during the holiday. Those old tapes from my past played loud and clear (Have it now, there won't be enough ! You won't ever have a chance to eat this again ! You deserve it !) For me, my eating has to be systematic and deliberate while I work to resolve a bit more of my disordered eating patterns.
Positive thought and energy to all of us as we work to reset.

Scale the same today at 127.4. I did do step aerobics yesterday but no yoga or resistance training. I plan to do both of those today.
Spent a good part of the day in the kitchen yesterday. We loaded up with meat at Costco yesterday so I made shredded beef for hot beef sandwiches and beef stroganoff and cut up salmon and pork loin into family sized portions. Froze all but one meal of stroganoff which we had for dinner last night. It is nice to have some frozen prepared meals for those crazy nights when we are running around with kid activities.
I found a tolerable protein bar (for me) at Costco yesterday. Robert Irvine's Fit Crunch - peanut butter. It doesn't have that bitter after taste that so many protein bars have - might be little too sweet for my liking but overall it is pretty good. It has 190 calories, 8 G fat, 14 G carbs, and 16 G protein. It does have 8 G sugar alcohols which I know some are sensitive to. I don't use bars frequently but like to have them on hand for unplanned for missed meals or if I am traveling/out and about and don't want to stop. I can see using them on Boy Scout camp outings also when the meal choice just doesn't fit into my plan (i.e. pancakes for breakfast or pasta based dish for dinner!)

So scale has been faced. Good for you. And while the old tapes may be playing, remember you're likely only having to deal with a few pounds - 10 at most, if that? Not 200 pounds.

You are right Linda. I have been playing this head game for weeks now. Telling myself I just can't get the lbs off while I have been playing with a three to five lb gain. The old negative crap was winning. Yesterday the truth was revealed "I got this and I will and can get the weight off." Today was a bit of shock on the scale but then again not really. I need to take off 8 lbs to be at my red line. I usually sit between. 144 and 147. I would like to drop down to my low. We are going to Cuba the end of January. It would be nice to have wiggle room. However, I don't think I will lose this in just three short weeks. So I will be on plan on holidays and running the beaches. I've done it before and enjoyed it and I will again. There is something strangely soothing about being back into the weight loss mode. More comfortable for some reason. Thank you for your support it is truly appreciated and needed. Hugs Lorna
