Good Morning !

A year ago Monday, I had my official weigh in at 271. The beginning of 2015 was filled with hope for a healthy life. Today,  I am 145.6 , and finally fit comfortably into my Lands End size 8 black jeans ! My first thought upon waking was where Sadie and I would walk today and remembering that the pool will be open again this week! What a difference a year makes !!

I plan to finish some Roman shades and grocery shop this morning. Have a great day !

Scale was 127 this morning, so holding pretty steady. Calories were on yesterday, carbs still higher then I would like. I do believe I have awoken that carb monster!

Going shopping at Costco today (NOT buying more rice crackers and nuts). I think I will do step aerobics for my exercise. I should do some yoga or resistance training as well. My legs are feeling so much better - not 100% but at least I can do my exercise again!

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Good morning, Mates!

Scale 125.7 this morning, down from yesterday.  Eating has been ok. Deliberately adding carbs messes a bit with my mind in various ways. It feels illegal and decadent yet I always want a little more.  Thank goodness for the food scale.

There are lots of bad carbs just laying around the house.  Having them in plain view is my problem.  I have resisted all but every time I lay my eyes on them I think about having just a taste.  I think by the end of today they will be gone.

I briefly spoke to my daughter about needing to refresh her nutrition post holidays.  Huge eye roll accompanied by a coordinated head roll was her response.  She really has perfected her eye roll for maximum drama.

Heading out to cross country ski.  Yin yoga scheduled for tonight.

Have a great day, all.  Thank you so much for being here in this group!

Ocean:  Congratulations on an excellent year!

Very nice.

Yes, a brand new day to start all over again.

Scale the same but yesterday was a most excellent food day. Calories 876.  However only walked 4,789 steps.  It is VERY icy outside and am a coward.   Don't know how you east coasters/prairie folks manage this kind of weather.

Have a wonderful Sat!

Good morning all,

Glad to see everyone is doing well.  I am busy today taking down the Christmas tree and putting all my stuff in bins and into storage. Once I get everything away including all the baking into the freezer so it is not staring at me I should be good to go again.  I won't go in the freezer to get it out but if it is around I eat it. I have awoken the Carb Monster; he is alive and living and a bugger to slay.  For today, I will eat as Kiark says Clean, Lean and Green and drink drink drink (water that is).  I am not ready to step on the scale but I know my clothes feel tighter.  I will however, put on the tight jeans and no more stretchy pants that I can lie to myself in.

Everyone have a great day and I will be back tomorrow. Thanks Lorna

Dr Ponce de Leon Mexico     VSG 4 Jun 12. I lost 57 lbs on my own before having a VSG. This is by far the best thing I have ever done for myself.

Carbs, carbs, for every meal - The more you eat the worse you feel - But, hell, let's have carbs for every meal!

I don't know why that came to mind after reading the posts above, but it did. Could it be that it's because yesterday I wanted CARBS?!?!?!

I was right about where my extra 3 pounds came from. Most of it is gone this morning.

Carb truth: I am a little carb craver myself these past few days. I am riding the wave, though and navigating as carefully as possible without feeling deprived. I realize I have a "food funeral" mentality surfacing in the face of my sugar reset tomorrow. Luckily, I understand that is what is going on and I am not upset with myself. It's my normal reaction to an upcoming "diet" - you know the "I will NEVER eat XX again so I must eat LOTS of XX now!" I am reminding myself that the sugar reset is not a diet and that the no sugar no refined carbs eating style is just a way to help me get back on the weight loss track, rather than the maintaining track I've been on for 7 weeks.

We had a lovely dinner last night with friends and I'm very proud of how beautiful the turkey was when it came out of the oven. Sadly a little bit underdone at the thigh, but other than that it was wonderful. I used the recipe for brining and seasoning the Today show ran this past Thanksgiving. Damn good! We used a pastured turkey which tend to be drier and leaner, a bit more flavorful, organically raised -no hormones, no grain feeding, etc... Turkey was beautifully moist.

Tonight we go out to the city for Cavalia (basically a Cirque du Soleil show with 60+ horses). I'm excited to see it. I was an avid horseman during my youth. I stopped riding when college became all consuming and never took it back up. Moved to dogs instead, I guess.

Had a great bike ride with my brother yesterday. He is MO and very out of shape, so I was very proud of him for getting out of the house and getting out of his comfort zone. (I think he may begin to consider surgery this year - I am hopeful.) I planned out an 8 mile route for Ron and me today. I'm looking forward to that very much. I am really enjoying biking even though it's a *****illy.

Happy Saturday!

119 - yikes!  Tomorrow is restart weight loss day :-( Kairk interesting that you mention the food funeral because I've been wrestling with something similar too. Hadn't thought of it that way.

Not feeling my best mentally or physically. Last night I had several gastric 'attacks' of some kind - very painful. Could it be related to all the crap I've been eating? Lol.
