New Year's Eve Day, 12/31/15

Reaching out with a cyber hug! I understand how worries and stresses can really get the best of us and trigger comforting behaviors - even if those behaviors aren't ideal in the long run!

Last week I was having stress and upset over some things, too. What helped me deal with some of it was separating out the issues over which I had absolutely no control. Once I did that and forced myself to let go of those few things over which I had no control, I felt freed up to deal with those that I could.

Sunday is a good day for a reset! Ron and I will be joining you the same day in a sugar reset. It will be Ron's first time detoxing from sugar. I'm looking forward to sharing the experience with him. Will keep you posted!

Cyber hug Linda, it is challenging when you have stress and worries. I seem to fall back into my old coping skills to handle stuff even though I know better.  I think Sunday is a big reset day for a lot of people by the sounds of things.  I think I will try the 5 day pouch test.  I have never done it and wondered if any of you have tried it and does it help detox the carbs and get your mind cleared up from all the garbage?

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE - MAY YOU HAVE A BLESSED YEAR FILLED WITH GOOD HEALTH, GOOD TIMES AND PROSPERITY! and of course Great Friends and family - inlcuding your MFP family!  Hugs all!

My opinion on the 5 Day Pouch Test is that it is punitive! If you want to detox, I highly recommend my method.

Commit to no sugar, no added sugar, no refined carbs for at least 14 days.

Day 1 : Eat as much clean protein and fresh veggies as you like. Make sure you have an adequate healthy fats (nuts, grass fed butter, avocado, EVOO, etc...). Also, make sure to drink water and drink water and drink water!

Day 2 and 3: Same as Day 1.

Day 4: Get back on your low carb plan that promotes whatever your weight goals are. Remember, no sugar, no added sugars, no refined carbs.

No Sugar, No added Sugar, No refined carbs basically = NO packaged prepared foods.

My motto for a detox is this: Lean, Clean and Green.

Thank Kairk;

That actually sounds more doable than the 5 day pouch test.  I just need to get my sh*t together and get back to basics before it gets out of hand.

Thanks again. Lorna
