New Year's Eve Day, 12/31/15
Good morning ! I am down to 146.4 today ! I shoveled ice and snow during the afternoon and chose to stick with my plan of grilled salmon versus glazed. We were in the bar for almost an hour before being seated, and the bar snacks (pretzels, buttered popcorn, crackers & cheese etc.) were everywhere. I chose to stick with my plan of one glass of red wine, and told my carb monsters that if they cooperated and were willing to forgo the crap, they could have a couple of bites of a much more enjoyable dessert. Negotiation successful, and I don't feel guilty about a compromise that wasn't part of the original game plan.
Life is full of unexpected choices ... I have to learn to consider options and go forward with the best option. I can see that my work will focus on quieting the old tapes and "food police" and objectively gathering information (food archeologist) and making choices based on as neutral an assessment as I can muster.
I am resisting resolutions this year, and am trying to place hold my current thinking in "guidelines" for healthy living. I see this as an evolving process that will change as I learn more about how my body and mind adjust to maintenance.
Happy, healthy 2016 to us all !?

Maintaining at 127.4. I've never been one to make New Year's Resolutions but do plan on sticking to my Maintenance plan of a protein forward diet and regular exercise. A new goal for 2016 is to include more resistance training to help define my new body more.
Bought some crab and lobster - not sure if we will eat tonight or save for tomorrow. No real plans for tonight. Yoga and something aerobic on the docket for today and maybe some house cleaning.
Hope you all have a good time ringing in the New Year! Here's to a wonderful 2016 for us all!

Good morning, all! Just a quick note as the car defrosts for a moment!
Yoga is all about setting intentions which seems to be a kinder, gentler way to focus on moving in new directions. I have been thinking about that a lot. My over-arching theme seems to be one of being able to move my body for fun (yoga, hiking, skiing, etc) now that I don't have the extra weight and accompanying pain.
Scale 124.1 today which is a slow trend down. I had small wave of eating extra peanuts last night as I was stressed about coming up with tonight's plans. When I was in weight loss, I simply didn't do that. I used being in maintenance as an excuse. Calories were still low and all that, I would just like not to feel like that but I don't think that will ever go away. Of course, the peanuts didn't really soothe the anxiety but I have to say they were tasty.
Happy New Year's!!!

Quick check in as I am on the fly this morning. Lots to do. Dog training, grocery shopping, dinner out. (Dog training and dinner out are distance activities and will require car time - blech on that today! Hoping the traffic gods are looking down upon me favorably!)
Scale the same again today. This is good - especially after movie popcorn and a not so great dinner (Tacos and I ate the tortilla).
If you have the chance to see the movie Joy, do it! Very well done. The lessons on perseverance can be applied to our weight journeys when analyzed.
we did a double feature last evening - first saw Carol and then The Danish Girl. Bother were excellent

Hi All! I didn't want to get on the scale but did, and wished I didn't. I know that the jump up of 2 lbs. had so much to do with all of the sodium I had yesterday, coupled with the fact that I didn't have my morning constitutional. Even knowing all of that, it still is so unsettling to see a number that is going in the wrong direction. Tonight we are having guests. I plan to eat the foods that are high in protein and low in carbs, though not necessarily low in calories. I did make a sugar free dessert, so I could indulge. My plan is to do as well as I can tonight and then have a more routine day tomorrow.
Happy New Year everyone! I hope whatever your plan that it is fun, happy, and safe!
Mary
Hi all, 128 today. Actually had a protein drink yesterday - the first in a very long time. it was yucky and upset my tummy. blended it and too much air in it. Since its cold here i thought i would do a protein hot coco to warm up and improve protein intake. we will see how long i can stand it.
no plans for tonight. we stay home and watch it all on tv. we usually hear some gun fire and fireworks at midnight in our little hick town.
Tomorrow we have a guest for the rose bowl so its black eyed peas and a little ham. She drinks tequila so i will have to go get some. nobody will be in the liquor store today LOL. Otherwise i will swing by the art studio and piddle around.
have a safe new years eve. diane
Hi all. Scale is back at red line 118 today. I'm not on my game right now, feeling like I can't make any big correction until Sunday, which will likely be an all meat day to ease the transition into weight loss mode again.
Move been in a bit of a funk. Lots of life worries right now so I think those in combination with he eating season - not good
